Bobby Joe Buckman, born January 7, 1957 went home to be in Heaven April 24, 2010. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and two brothers and two sisters who will be there with open arms to great him.
He is survived by his brother Don Buckman and wife Earleen, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was born and raised in Ventura County.
Although Bobby had a very hard life he was always there when anyone needed him. He will be missed and always loved by all. May he rest in peace.

Richard M. (Toolie) Palmer

Richard M. (Toolie) Palmer, age 94, went home to his Lord, Thursday, April 15, 2010.
Toolie was born on April 16, 1915 in Fillmore, Ca. to George and Tulip Palmer. He had one brother, Lawrence, who preceded him in death. While attending U.C. Santa Barbara, he met, fell in love with, and married Katherine Smith, his wife of 72 years.
Toolie loved sports and wanted to be a coach and educator. He attended Ventura College, University of San Francisco, and U.C. Santa Barbara. His first job after college was at the McKinley Home in Van Nuys where Toolie was a counselor and recreation director. Later, he was a physical education instructor, counselor, and coach for 32 years at Fillmore High School where he touched many students' lives. He was inducted into the Ventura County Sports Hall of Fame in 1989.
In retirement, Toolie got interested in Australian Bark Pictures. He has sold and given away many pictures that hang in Fillmore homes as well as homes around the world. Toolie and his wife Katherine traveled extensively and loved learning about new places and people. Slide shows of their travels have been a cherished and entertaining family tradition for many years.
Toolie is survived by his loving wife, Katherine, his son and daughter-in-law, Dick and Lois Palmer of Australia, his daughter, Paula Suttle of Fillmore, his grandchildren; Randy Suttle and his wife Lisa, Matt Suttle and his wife Linda, Kym Suttle Peritore, Justin and husband Ross Temby, great-grandchildren; Brina, Arin, Tate, Lauren, Christian, Thomas, William, Elizabeth, and Madeline.
Toolie will be greatly missed by his family and all the friends and students who were touched by his life. Laura Nadine Smith

Laura Nadine Smith, lovingly known as "Honey", Mom, Nana and Nana Montana, went to be with her Lord and Savior. She passed suddenly in San Luis Obispo on Sunday, April 18, 2010. She most recently lived in Templeton, but had another residence in Lindsay California. Born and raised in Fort Scott Kansas, Nadine's family relocated to Orange County California during the Depression. There, at the age of 14, she met her first and only love, Raymond Smith. Just shy of graduating from high school, she and Ray eloped in Arizona. Their marriage and love for each was a legacy. Many friends and family members use their marriage as a model for their own. They would have celebrated their 68th anniversary Saturday, April 24, 2010. Her greatest joy was taking care of her husband and children. She was self-educated, always trying to increase her knowledge and learn new things. Most recently she was learning to use the computer on her new laptop. She was a vorocious reader and could keep up with anybody on any subject. She knew more about politics than most politicians....she always knew her facts. Her greatest gift was the capacity to make anyone entering her home feel loved and welcome. Outside the home, she loved traveling, watching her grandkids' and great-grandkids' sporting events, Like her dad, she loved to tell a joke and had an amazing sense of humor. Billy Graham, Barbara Bush and her mom were among her favorite heroes. Nadine had many life-long friends whom they still loved to visit and travel with. Nadine was preceded in death by her father, Tom, her mother, Katie, and brother, Dale. Her father built their church in Rainbow Valley, California and her brother was a pastor in Escondido, California. She leaves her four children Sharon (John) Ferguson of Fillmore, California; Brent (Linda) Smith of Arroyo Grande; Denise (Steve) Weeks of Templeton, California and Lori (Greg) Nunez of Fillmore, California. She was so very proud of her 11 grandkids, Craig (Laura) Ferguson, Staci (John) Rolff, Robert (Jen) Weeks, Ryan (Tara) Weeks, Ashlee (Garrett) Loughran, Brett Weeks, Danny (April Kozar) Nunez, Lindsay (Dave Behling) Nunez, Brock Nunez, Ian and Kimmy Smith. She also got to meet 15 great grandkids, Christopher, Lauren, Kiley, and Brad Rolff, Collin and Claire Ferguson, Katie, Addison and Ty Weeks, Parker and Hudson Loughran, Ryan, Bryce and Brooke Nunez, and Peyton Behling. William “Clyde” Reames

William “Clyde” Reames of Fillmore passed away on March 13, 2010 after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Mae, his Mother in law, Margaret Garrett and step-mother Peggy Reames. Anna Mae’s sons Robert (Joan) Vaughn and children Nicole and Eryk and Scott (Adriene) Vaughn and children Vanessa, Brittany, Kyle, Ariel and Tracy.
Sisters: Phyllis, Billie, Barbara, Wanda, Teka and Sharon. Brothers: Raymond and Bill, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother Beverly, His father H.U. “Blackie” Reames and his son John Reames.

Richard "Dick" Lee Schuck

Richard Lee Schuck "Dick" born October 19, 1926 in Hazard, Kentucky, passed away at age 83 on March 8, 2010 quietly in his sleep at home in Fillmore, California. Dick struggled with emphysema for 15 years. He masked his pain with a smile and a joke.
Dick was a member of VFW of Santa Paula, he was a lifelong Mason and member of the 82nd Airborne in World War 2.
Dick was an adventurer and a traveler. His work took him to Iran for many years where he lived and worked for Aramco Oil.
For the last 14 years of his life he lived in the El Dorado senior community with his wife of 16 years Marion. On any given day you would see him walking his dog "Hey you" or working on his backyard making a waterfall. He loved to visit with his friends and neighbors. He really loved to brag about his children. Every holiday he would take them around to show them off.
It is difficult to capture Dick's personality in words. Every memory his loved ones have of him is with a big smile on his face and cracking a joke.
His optimistic attitude, his love of life, his great stories and his ability to befriend all those around him made him someone we will never forget.
He is survived by his wife Marion and his five children Henry, Sheva, Debra, Kimberly, Pamela and his grandchildren Shelby, Amanda and Mitchel.
All Dick’s friends are welcome to attend his memorial which will take place on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 11am at the Fillmore Senior Center.

Evelyn Cecelia Hardison

Evelyn Cecelia Hardison Richardson Davis, of Fillmore, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2010.
She was born to Elvira and Clifford Hardison, on December 10, 1921, and was raised on the family citrus ranch and Sanitary Dairy, west of Fillmore.

She attended Fillmore schools and graduated from Fillmore High School in 1939. She loved music and she and her sister Betty Jean performed in an accordion band.

Evelyn worked at several of the local citrus packing houses for over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Russell Hardison, sisters Dorothy Nickerson and Betty Jean Burritt and son Clifford. She is survived by daughters Judy Kelley, Nancy Waldthausen, son Dick Richardson and wife, Martha, grandchildren, Robert and wife Sandra Kelley, Ron Kelley, Becky and husband Rick Hunt, Ana and husband Salvadore, Sonya and husband Kevin, Clifford Waldthausen, Amy Berger and husband Robert, and Mike Richardson and wife Heather, and 14 great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Bardsdale Cemetery on Wednesday, March 10 at 10 am.

Any memorial donations may be made to the Fillmore Historical Museum.

Teresa Munoz

Teresa Munoz, age 50, passed away on Feb. 6, 2010 in Reno, NV.

Teresa is survived by her parents John and Lydia Munoz. Her children Danielle Murdock, husband Brian and Wesley Smith, wife Katie. Brothers and sisters John Munoz, wife Janie; Martin Munoz, wife Betty; Martha Vargas, husband Herman; Marie Griffin, husband Ken; Kathy Meza, husband Ramon; Peter Munoz, wife Debbie. Grandchildren Ainsley and Tiarah Murdock and Wesley Smith Jr. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Teresa was born Sept. 14, 1949 in Ventura, CA. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She will always be remembered by her ability to enjoy life to its fullest and will continue to be an inspiration those that knew her.

Valentine (Big Val) Pillado Sr.

PIRU
Valentine (Big Val) Pillado Sr. age 55 born Jan. 4, 1955, went home with our lord on Saturday Feb. 13th, 2010. Following a brief illness. He was surrounded by his family and friends at the time of his death and died peacefully at home.
Val loved being around his family especially his grand children. He loved camping in Yosemite, fishing at Convict Lake, listening to Oldies music, going to family bar-b-ques, watching Sci-fi channel, football, baseball, basketball. Val was also an avid deer hunter. He enjoyed sitting on the front porch talking to friends and neighbors. Val always had a way to make people laugh. He will be missed by anyone who was fortunate to have met him. Val was a devoted catholic and always prayed the Rosary.
Val was employed by the City of Simi Valley as a Landscape Maintenance worker for 15 years until he suffered a back injury and became disabled.
Val was one of eight children was preceded to death by sisters Viola, Elizabeth, Brother Michael and mother Katy Pillado. He is survived by his loving wife Becky. They had been married 38 years and were High School Sweet hearts; his sons Val Jr, Timmy and daughter Michele; grandchildren, Val Jr II, Aiyanna, Brittany, Ashley, Raeleen, little Timmy II, Dominick. Sisters Blanca Lopez, Rosie Velasquez, Brothers Manuel Jr. & David Pillado, Father Manuel Pillado Sr. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Val will be loved and missed forever.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30pm at San Salvador Church in Piru, Ca. on Thursday, February 18, 2010. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9am at San Salvador Church in Piru on Friday, February 19, 2010. Burial will follow at Bardsdale Cemetery in Fillmore.

Fredrick Alan Krone

Fredrick Alan Krone, age 79 of Fillmore, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010.

Fred is survived by his children, Robert , Kathryn and Christine; his sister, Georgette, and granddaughters, Brittany and Hannah.

Fred was a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend.

Allan R. Coates, Jr.

The first mayor of Carpinteria and retired U.S. Army colonel, Allan R. Coates, Jr., died Feb. 9, 2010 in San Diego County after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was 79. A former teacher, high school counselor, coach and city manager, Coates was a dedicated public servant in Carpinteria and Fillmore.

Allan was born in Oakland and raised in Porterville. He moved to Santa Barbara to attend UCSB and enlisted with Santa Barbara’s 981st Field Artillery Battalion in the 40th Infantry Division of the California Army National Guard. He was called to active duty in the Korean War from 1950 – 52. Coates continued his military service with the National Guard and U.S. Army reserve for 41 years, attaining the rank of colonel. He retired from the service in 1991 and later became quartermaster of the VFW post in Fillmore.

Coates held a political science degree from UCSB and master’s in education from USC. He was a teacher and coach in the Fillmore High School District in 1960-61, moving to the Carpinteria Unified School District in 1962. While teaching government and coaching basketball, Coates became involved in the movement to incorporate Carpinteria. In 1965, he was elected to the first city council and was appointed mayor. He remained on the council for seven years and was named Carpinteria Man of the Year in 1967.

Following a yearlong tour of active duty at the Army’s Command and General Staff College in Kansas, Coates became city manager of Carpinteria. He held that position for 18 years before moving to Fillmore to become assistant city manager and finance director. He retired from full-time city service in 1996, receiving numerous commendations for his work, including a resolution from the California Legislature.

Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca Coates Nee, and granddaughter, Nikki, of San Diego; sisters and brothers-in-law Barbara and Dan Lublin of Visalia and Nadine and Francis Muller of Nicasio; a niece and numerous nephews and cousins.

A graveside service is planned for 11 a.m., Feb. 19 at Carpinteria Cemetery, followed by a reception. Donations in Allan’s memory may be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation, the Boys and Girls Club of Carpinteria, or a local hospice.

Eva H. Noel completed her journey on earth moving to her heavenly home on January 27, 2010. Eva Kate Hoffmann was born February 22, 1912 in Los Angeles, CA. She was the youngest of her siblings consisting of 2 brothers and 1 sister.
After completing High School, Eva's course through life led her to join the Army WAAC in 1942 where she served honorably until her discharge in 1943. It was at that time she moved to Fillmore. On August 16, 1946 she married Orpheus Isaiah Noel in Fillmore. To that union three children were born - Nancy, Wesley and Lowell. She selflessly devoted and dedicated her life to her family.
She is survived by her daughter Nancy L. Noel of Fillmore, CA, sons Wesley O. Noel ofBozeman, MT and Lowell V. Noel of Denver, CO. Mom has now joined all her family that predeceased her - including her mother who gave her life in child birth with Eva.
The family wishes to express our deepest gratitude to those who provided untold assistance to Mom in her last days: Dr. Bundy and staff, attending physicians and health care professionals of Santa Paula Hospital, volunteers and public servants of the community of Fillmore, the Bob Thompson family and most of all to Marietta and Larry Spencer for the years of faithful care, compassion and unending love for Eva.
A family memorial service will be held at the Bardsdale Cemetery on Tuesday February 2, 2010.

Jay Carnine

Jay Carnine of Kingman died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, in Las Vegas of a massive brain bleed. His wife, Gay, daughters, granddaughters and son-in-law were with him.
Jay was born Jan. 27, 1940, and raised in Ventura, Calif. It was there that his love of street rods was born. That love grew throughout his life and he had many rods come and go until about 1986, when he started building his dream care, a 1932 Ford roadster. He drove that car anywhere and everywhere loving every minute. We had many good times in it and made many new and wonderful friends along the way.
He retired at age 55, after 35 years with Southern California Edison. We kept in touch with many good friends we made during those years. He was a kind, loving, compassionate, intelligent man. He reveled in sharing his vast knowledge with anyone who asked.
Jay wrote and published two great books, Pinkie and California Hot Rodder. He mentored many people on the Web site that he was a member of. He shared dozens of great stories, talked with so many friends there about rods and freely gave of his awesome intelligence.
Jay leaves behind his beloved wife, Gay; their daughters, Cheri (Pat) of Las Vegas and Deb of Kingman; his sister, Shari (Phil) of Texas; his brother, Louie (Marci) of Ojai, Calif.; grandchildren, Cory (Tika) of Tennessee, Kristie (Wil) of Georgia (who have Kyla Ann, two years old, the most beautiful, funny and wonderful great-granddaughter!); and Melissa Carnine of Kingman. Jay also has two great-grandsons on the way, one in November and one in February. He is also survived by three nephews and one niece and their children.
He was predeceased by his parents, Chet and Clytie, paternal and maternal grandparents, three uncles and one aunt.

John Chapman Morris

April 12, 1930 – January 1, 2010

John Chapman Morris, “Chappy,” of Fillmore passed away from cancer on January 1, 2010 at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara at the age of 79. He was surrounded by his immediate family.
Chappy was born in Fillmore, California on April 12, 1930 to parents William L. Morris and Verna Bertine Hansen. He was the youngest of three with an older brother, William L. Morris, Jr. and a sister, Virginia. He attended Fillmore Elementary School and graduated from Fillmore High School in 1948. From there he did a stint at the University of Southern California (USC), where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, and remained until he was drafted to the Army in 1954. He later returned to USC where he majored in business and liberal arts. After college he made the decision to make his permanent home in Fillmore, joined the family automobile business, William L. Morris Chevrolet, and has resided there ever since.
In 1958, Chappy married Geraldine Doud, “Jeri,” of Oxnard, California. They were married for almost 50 years. He was a true entrepreneur and diversified from the automobile business to farming, real estate and, in 1973, started Fillmore Area Transit Corporation. It quickly grew from hauling 1,300 passengers per month to 22,000. He loved his community and was an active member and former president of Rotary, Jr. and Sr. Chamber of Commerce, Fillmore High School Alumnae and the May Festival. Chappy was also an active member of Rancheros Vistadores, Campo Adolfo, and Rancheros Adolfo, a Ventura County men’s horseback riding club. He enjoyed riding with his father, father-in-law, brothers-in-law, sons, sons-in-law, and numerous relatives.
Giving back to the community was very important to Chappy, and he generously supported many local groups and charities including St. Augustine Academy, St. Thomas Aquinas College, Adopt-A-Family, Feed the Children,
St. Francis of Assisi, and San Salvador Mission, to name a few.
He is survived by his four children: Laurie Morris Smith of San Clemente, John Chapman Morris, Jr. of Ventura, Tina Morris Thomson of Pasadena and William L. Morris, III of Fillmore; sons in law David B. Smith and John E. Thomson; daughters in law Lori Morris and Shelly Morris. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeri.
“Pappy” as he was known by his grandchildren Chasen, Brennan and Lauren Smith, Sydney and Maggie Morris, Katie and Charlie Thomson and Hunter, Grant and Griffin Morris will forever be remembered as the family patriarch. They will especially cherish the special times they spent with their grandpa picking avocados and watercress on the family ranch, riding horses, family trips to the Alisal Guest Ranch and his special recipe for homemade beef jerky. He also leaves behind his beloved and loyal Australian Shepherd, LeRoy.
The Rosary will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Fillmore on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 7:00 pm. A service celebrating Chappy’s life will be held on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 11:00 am at Santa Clara Catholic Church, 323 South E. Street in Oxnard.

Herb Baehr

Beloved Herb Baehr of Fillmore peacefully passed from this life into the next on Wed December 23, 2009 at home. He was 92 years old. He was a resident of Ventura county for 60 years, moving here from Chicago, Illinois.
Herb, a retired teacher, was a devoted Lyons Club member. He enjoyed playing tennis, bingo and card games. He loved to sing and dance and was a Chicago radio singer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Edna Martine Baehr from Kansas and Jacob Peter Baehr of Germany. Brothers: Paul and Karl, Sister Ruth and former wife Vivian Baehr.
He is survived by his spouse Jean, son John, daughter Melody, grandson Jacob, brother Rufus and sister in law Elsa. Stepdaughters Jan and Michelle and four grandchildren.
Memorial donations can be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, or to the Faith Community Church in Fillmore.

Robert Wesley Nichols

Robert Wesley Nichols, former Fillmore City Manager who was known to many as “Mr. Fillmore,” passed away November 24, 2009 at the age of 88. Mr. Nichols was a third generation Fillmore native. He was an unforgettable personality to all who knew him, and was known for his proud spirit, dedication to Country, and his love of life and Fillmore.
Born in Fillmore on October 19, 1921, Nichols was a lifelong resident of the City. He attended Fillmore schools, graduating from Fillmore Union High School in 1940, where he excelled in football and other sports.
After two years of college, Nichols served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1952, holding positions with the Naval Air Corps as Navigator and Aviation Chief. Shortly after enlisting in the Navy, he married Juanita Mauck, his high school sweetheart. They were married for over 60 years and had three daughters, all of whom were raised in Fillmore, attended Fillmore schools, and married local men with families in Fillmore and Ventura. Mr. and Mrs. Nichols were both active in community affairs throughout their lives, and were longtime members of the Fillmore Methodist Church.
Immediately after leaving the Navy, Mr. Nichols returned to Fillmore and engaged in ranching, managing citrus properties in Bardsdale. In 1955 he began service with the City of Fillmore, where he was Superintendent of Public Works from 1959 to 1968 and City Manager from 1968 to October of 1981.
During his tenure as City Manager, Nichols presided over a period of unprecedented growth, as the City’s population grew from 6,000 to 10,000. He was instrumental in the acquisition of the land for Sespe Park, upgrading of the City’s water systems, directing preparations for the Fillmore Industrial Park, and creation of the Fillmore Community Redevelopment Agency. In 1969, he was a principal actor in recovery and reconstruction efforts in the aftermath of one of the worst rainstorms and floods in Fillmore history, during which all roads and highways to the City were washed out and Fillmore was completely isolated for several days. Mr. Nichols was also active in regional organizations representing Ventura County and its cities, and served as Chairman of the Managers’ Group of the Ventura County Association of Governments.
During their retirement years, Wesley and Juanita Nichols lived in Fillmore, traveled the United States, and spent time with their daughters and their families. Juanita Nichols passed away in 2005. In his last years, Mr. Nichols enjoyed drives around Fillmore and Ventura County, identifying familiar places and public works, and observing annual City events such as the July 4th fireworks celebrations.
Mr. Nichols is survived by his three daughters, Constance Main of La Canada, Diana Cox of Westlake Village, and Sally Joller of Los Osos, California; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at Bardsdale Cemetery in Fillmore on December 10, 2009.

Gil Kohler

Gil Kohler passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2009. Gil was 97 years old. Gil suffered a heart attack on Monday and was taken to Community Memorial Hospital where he fought hard until his passing, Wednesday at 8:15. He leaves his lovely wife Rosella Kohler behind.
A religious service will be held on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 2PM at Skillin Carroll Mortuary in Santa Paula, 738 E. Santa Paula St., Santa Paula, Ca. 93015, 805-525-3391. Gil's 97 year old body was donated to science and was taken by a university shortly after his death. They are very interested in studying his longevity and health.

Pamela Sue Beall, age 52, resident of Chalfant Valley in Bishop, CA for three years, born in Dewitt, Arkansas on June 12, 1957, passed away on November 27, 2009 in Reno, NV.
She served as cafeteria manager for the Fillmore School District for twenty years and lived in the Fillmore area for forty years.
Survivors include husband Richard L. Beall of Chalfant Valley in Bishop, CA; son Ricky Beall of Bishop, CA; daughter Lacie Cordova of Mt. Vernon, MO; mother Ruby Bennett of Piru, CA; brothers Joe LaCotts of Wright City, MO, Leslie LaCotts of Blytheville, AR, Jay LaCotts of Piru, CA, and Henry Bennett of Avenal, CA; sisters Donna Elam of Spokane, WA, Sabina Real of Baldwin Park, CA, Shirley Bennett of Atlanta, GA, and Kim Galarza of Ventura, CA; two grandchildren Hunter & Noah Beall. Also thirty nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Brune Mortuary Thursday, December 3, 2009, 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Funeral service will be at Brune Mortuary Friday, December 4, 2009, 2:00 PM. Pastor Chris Costello will officiate. Interment will be at the East Line Street Cemetery, Bishop, CA.

Lorene Dee (Bivin) Baker was born May 17, 1926 in Ventura, Calif. To Jo & Delta Bivin. She graduated from Ventura High School in 1944 and subsequently married Robert Child. Divorced in 1951, she went to work for the Southern Calif Gas Co. as a telephone operator. In 1957 Lorene married Russell Laurence (Larry) Baker. In the early 70’s she went to work for Rudkin Motors as a bookkeeper. In her later years she helped to cater meals for Rotary Club luncheons and other events. She was always very active in the Presbyterian Church, which later became Fillmore Bible Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher for the 2 & 3 years olds, deaconess among many other things. In 2002 she moved to Klamath Falls, Ore and on to Salem in 2005, where she was welcomed and become very active in south Salem Nazarene Church. She is survived by her husband Larry, children David Child, The Dallas, Ore, Annalee Taylor, Tuolumne, Calif, Terry Baker and Donald Baker of Salem, Ore and 11 grandchildren.
Contributions may be to the south Salem Church of the Nazarene 1661 Boone Rd S, Salem, Or 97306 where memorial services were held on Monday Nov. 30th. Arrangements were by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.

Harry O. Yetter Jr.

Born June 21, 1919 in Wymore, Nebraska. Passed away November 8, 2009 in Bend Oregon. Harry and his wife of 65 ½ years, Margaret, moved to Bend in July of 2005, but Harry’s heart remained in his beloved Fillmore with his friends and neighbors.

Marilyn JoAnn Brockus

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of JoAnn Brockus. She passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 11th 2009.
JoAnn was born on December 8th 1933 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Gertrude and Stanley (“Snooks”) Fowler.
Upon her husbands’ retirement from the Bardsdale Cemetery District in 1991, JoAnn and Edward moved to the beautiful state of Utah, north of Glendale in Lydia’s Canyon. Edward continues to reside in their lovely home over looking a canyon just North of Glendale.
JoAnn was married to her husband Edward Dwight Brockus for fifty-six years. They both grew up in Fillmore and were married in 1953. They resided in Bardsdale raising three daughters and one son. Surviving is their daughter Deborah Blaylock husband Joseph, daughter Sandra Collins husband Chris, daughter Janet Peery husband Joe, son Steven Brockus wife Rhonda. JoAnn leaves five Grandchildren, Michele Mackey husband Steven, Tammy Perryman, Nicholas Blaylock wife Jamie, Steven Brockus Jr., and Sheena Chips husband Ron also six great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Karissa, David, Jason, Emily, and Brooke.
All will forever miss JoAnn’s unselfish warm love, offered from a truly special heart that was an anchor and inspiration for the whole family. Though she enjoyed the mountains’ of Utah, A day did not go by that JoAnn did not call her children to see how all were doing, discuss the latest movie or TV show she was watching, quilt she was working on or book she was reading.
Graveside services were held on November 17th at 10:00 am at the Bardsdale Cemetery.
