How to submit your classified ad
There are three (3) ways to submit your Classified Ad:

#1) By Telephone:
Requires $20 minimum (2 week run)
Simply call us with your credit card information (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) and FAX or email your Classified Ad to us.

#2) By Mail:
Simply mail us your Classified Ad and payment by check or money order. Make checks out to The Fillmore Gazette.

#3) In Person:
Stop by our office anytime during business hours. You may bring your Classified Ad in with you or fill out a Classified Ad Form when you arrive. Payment is accepted by check, money order or cash.

Classified Ad Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
Question: If I go over 30 words, will I be charged per word?
Answer: No. Every 30 words counts as one Classified Ad. You will be billed for two (2) Classified Ads placements if you go over 30 words. In other words, it's $10 dollars per every 30 words.

Lowest Price In The County for Fictitious Business Name Statements! Only $45 Dollars!
For ONLY $45 dollars we will publish your Fictitious Business Name Statement (FBN) four (4) consecutive weeks, AS REQUIRED BY LAW. If you are filing more than TWO (2) NAMES, please add $5 dollars for each additional name beyond 2.

How to submit your Fictitious Business Name Statement or other legal notice
There are three (3) ways to submit your Fictitious Business Name Statement or other legal notice:

#1) By Telephone: Simply call (805) 524-2481 and we will take your credit card information over the phone (we accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express), then FAX your FBN statement to our FAX. The number is (805) 524-1164. (it is not necessary to FAX the County Clerk Seal)

#2) By Mail: Simply enclose the cover page of your FBN Statement (the one with the bar code) and a check or money order and mail to The Fillmore Gazette, P.O. Box 865, Fillmore, CA 93016.

#3) In Person: Simply stop by our office located at 408 Orchard Street, Fillmore, CA. 93015 during business hours with your FBN Statement and pay by Check, Money Order, Cash or Credit Card.

Proof of Publication: After the 4th week of publication we will forward a PROOF OF PUBLICATION to the Ventura County Clerk's office ONLY. WE DO NOT SEND ANYTHING TO YOU! You may check the accuracy of your legal notice by scrolling further down on this webpage approximately 10 days after beginning publication, or use the website's search function to locate your legal notice.

Repetition, recognition and safety

How many times does one person have to see an ad in order to go from indifference to wanting to make a purchase?

The astounding conclusion is that a potential customer, on average, needs to receive a sales message a full 9 times before he or she will react. And that’s not enough. You cannot count on the same person looking at your ad every time it runs.

Researchers have discovered that it is required to run an ad 3 times in order to make a person notice the ad once. You should expect to run your ad 27 times before the message has reached your audience. Granted, there is much insecurity involved in this, but the point is that once you’ve run your ad, you should run it long enough to ensure it will yield the desired response.

It is a good sign when your family or friends start to remark about being fed up about a certain ad. That only means that the message is taking hold. People with a strong attachment to your business will read your ad completely differently. To them your ad will be like a red flag, and they’ll contemplate every word within the ad. Potential customers are in a completely different situation. The first time they see the ad, the message will not come across. The second, third or fourth times they will recognize it. And on seeing later entries, they will then start to get interested. If you stop the ad too soon, it could mean that you are left with all the expenses and miss out on the profit.

A simple formula is:
Repetition = Recognition
Recognition = Safety
Safety = Sale

If you give up too soon, or change the message, you wont reach the last stage of the process. Remember to never change an ad simply because you are tired of it.
