November 11, 1919 – June 22, 2009. A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. A caring sister and a loyal friend. A woman of great faith and perseverance. Josie could find humor in every situation. With her infectious laughter and playful personality she won the hearts of many. She will be greatly missed. Until we meet again.

Claudia McElroy

Claudia McElroy 82, formerly of Fillmore passed away on July 5th in Bakersfield where she lived for the past 35 years.
Claudia had 9 children, 28 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Troy McElroy, sons: Royce, Richard, Leonard, daughter Jeanette and grandson Julian.
She is survived by sons Harlon (wife) Kathy McElroy of Oregon, Donald (wife) Robin McElroy of Colorado, Daughter Jeaniece (Husband) Frank Manasco of Porterville and Laurencine Rogers of Bakersfield.
Services were held at Greenlawn in Bakersfield July 10, 2009.

Kenneth Kern Glenn

Kenneth Kern Glenn of Fillmore, peacefully passed away into heaven on Sunday, July 05, 2009 after a brief illness. He was 93 years young!
Ken or Kenny known to his family and friends, was born in El Paso, Texas on March 25, 1916 to William and Iva Glenn. He moved with his family to Quincy, Illinois for 2 years. When he was 6 years old, they moved to Glendale, California. He graduated from Glendale High School in 1934. He received a degree in subtropical horticulture from U.C.L.A. in 1939. One of his first jobs after college was at the soils lab at Rancho Sespe. He then worked in the San Joaquin valley at a vineyard, working in a soils lab. It was in Delano, where he met Dorothy Root, and on December 22, 1943, they were married. He and Dorothy had 60 wonderful years together. Ken and Dorothy moved back to Rancho Sespe in 1947, where he worked as a Field Superintendent and Assistant Manager, working his way up to Executive Vice-President by the time he retired in 1978.
Ken was a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church, Fillmore Bible Church and most recently, Faith Community Church in Fillmore. He was a member of the Gideons International Ventura Camp. There were several organizations that Ken took an active role in for the community of Fillmore including: Fifty + year member of the Fillmore/Santa Paula Masonic Lodge #291 (recipient of the Hiram Award, 1991); Fifty + year member of the Fillmore Chapter of Eastern Star #361; Fifty + year member of the Scottish Rite; Al Malaikah Shriners; Past President of the Fillmore Elementary School Board; member of the board of the Associate Insectory; Past President of the Ventura County Farm Bureau; member of the Toastmasters Club; Volunteer for Food Share for 20 years; member of the Fillmore Citizens Patrol. He was nominated for Citizen of the Year in Fillmore in 1991.
Ken was a very devoted Christian man, and always had a positive attitude with a zest for life. He was always willing to help if asked by a friend or a stranger. He enjoyed being with his family, gardening, camping, traveling, bee keeping, raising decollate snails and most recently providing a Farmer’s Market for the residents at The Palms assisted living facility in Ventura where he resided. Ken will truly be missed by all who knew him. On Father’s Day, June 21, 2009, Ken told his children that they were his legacy, we have always been so very proud of our Dad.
Ken was preceded in death by an infant son, Gordon Wilbur Glenn in 1944, and his wife, Dorothy Glenn in 2004.
Ken is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Eleanore and Mark Hanson, of Gardnerville, NV, son and daughter-in-law, Bailey and Sherrie Glenn of Fillmore, CA, grandsons, Brian Hanson of Costa Mesa, CA, Mike Hanson of Santa Paula, CA and Matthew Glenn of Virginia Beach, VA. Step-grandchildren, Kelly Aguilera, Matthew Van Why and Amy Lynch, all of Fillmore and six step-great grandchildren.

Charles Eugene Harris

Charles Eugene Harris answered the ultimate call to worship and went home to be with His Lord and Savior on July 1, 2009. Charlie was born on February 14, 1958 in Phoenix, AZ and was a long-time resident of Ventura County. Foremost a disciple of Christ, he was thus a man of purpose, devoted to his family and to his church, where he was an associate pastor for nearly twenty years. A faithful man, he gave liberally of his time and energy in instructing people in the Word of God and in helping his friends with computers and all things technical.
Charlie was also known for his love of soccer, heart of worship, family trips in California, and invariable straight-faced teasing with a chuckle at the end. He was well-loved by the Lord, his family, and his friends; his "most favorite" verse was Romans 8:38-39 — "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Charlie will be greatly missed by all who knew him, most significantly his wife, Karen, and two daughters, Michelle and Erin. He is also survived by his mother, Eve Stone, and siblings: Trevor Harris and family, Brenda Segal and family, and Lisa Harris. A celebration service will be held Sunday, July 19 at 4 p.m. at the Fillmore Foursquare Church, 324 Sespe Ave. Bright, cheerful attire is requested. In lieu of flowers, gifts to the family can be bestowed through the Fillmore Foursquare Church.

Joan A. Kennedy McKeown

1933-2009

Joan Kennedy McKeown born Jan 4th in Ontario Canada, residing in Fillmore passed away Tuesday June 30th at 7:26p.m. in Santa Paula Hospital surrounded by all three of her children. She passed after a brief battle with cancer.
She is survived by son Stephen McKeown of Fillmore California, Jennifer McKeown of Floyd Co. Virginia, and Shawna (McKeown) Sturm of Wausau Wisconsin, 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Virginia Sanchez Alcoser

Virginia Sanchez Alcoser, 97, of Fillmore died of old age at her home surrounded by loving family on Monday, June 29, 2009, at approximately 9:15 p.m.
Virginia was born on May 22, 1912, in Zacatecas, Mexico. She was orphaned at the age of 5, and then she, her brother and sister were sent to Fillmore, CA, to be raised by their aunt. At the age of 15 she was given in an arranged marriage to Jesus Alcoser, 20 years her senior. During their 62 years of marriage, they produced 14 children: daughter Mary Torrez (husband Chris Torrez, now deceased), residing in Fillmore, CA; daughter Vera and husband Benjamin Banuelos, residing in San Benito, TX; daughter Victoria Alcoser, residing in Lakeview Terrace, CA; Mike Alcozar and wife, Sarah, residing in Camarillo, CA; daughter Lucy and husband, Albert Villa, residing in Santa Paula, CA; son Guillermo Alcoser(stillborn); son Ralph Alcoser and wife, Amelia, residing in Fillmore, CA; daughter Irene and husband, Robert Maciel, residing in Santa Maria, CA (Irene’s first husband, Louis Rodriguez, now deceased); son William Alcoser residing in Norwalk, CA; daughter Teresa and husband, Armando Marquez, residing in San Ramon, CA; son Joe Alcoser, residing in Lomita, CA; daughter, Josephine, married to Joe Alcocer, residing in Piru, CA; daughter Jenny, married to Luis Diaz, residing in Fillmore, CA; and son Johnny Alcoser, also residing in Fillmore, CA. Through her children, Virginia was blessed with 38 grandchildren, 91 great-grandchildren and 40 great-great-grandchildren, the joys of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Alcoser; brother Angel Sanchez, sister Consuelo Bueno, son Guillermo Alcoser, son-in-law Louis Rodriguez, son-in-law Chris Torrez, grandchild Julie Villa and great-grandchild Ricky Torrez.
Although Virginia herself never experienced the joy of her parents and brother and sister as a family growing up, she provided a loving and secure home for her children, finding ways to help provide for her family. Along with all that was entailed in keeping house for her family, she washed and ironed clothes for other families, watched their children, cleaned homes, baked bread and, her favorite, held garage sales. Garage sales were not only a means to earn money but a means to socialize with members of the community. Her financial and budgeting skills made it possible for the family to purchase their first home.
Virginia was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi’s community. Her strong faith and constant prayer protected her four sons while in the military and brought them home safely. She loved participating with members of her church, making tamales to raise money for the new church.
She valued our country more than most, knowing the opportunities and blessings that this country offered her and her family. She proudly displayed the American flag and was a faithful supporter of the Disabled American Veterans.
Virginia’s life was all about God, family, country and friends. Her priorities have brought value to us all and we will miss her greatly.

Virginia Sanchez Alcoser

Virginia Sanchez Alcoser, age 97, residing in Fillmore, California, passed away peacefully of old age on Monday, June 29, 2009, at approximately 9:15 p.m. in her bed, surrounded by loving family. She is survived by her thirteen children, 38 grandchildren, 91 great-grandchildren and 40 great-great grandchildren. A full obituary will be forthcoming. Virginia has been a long time resident and contributor to the community and church. The family welcomes all who wish to attend the funeral arrangements and reception as a way to honor and commemorate her life. Arrangements have been made as follows: Rosary Service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2009, at 8:00 p.m. at St. Frances of Assisi, 1048 West Ventura Street, Fillmore. Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Frances of Assisi. Burial will take place immediately thereafter at Bardsdale Cemetery, 1698 South Sespe, Fillmore. A reception to be held at St. Frances of Assisi hall on Tuesday, July 8, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. Assisting the family with funeral arrangements is Perez Family Funeral Home, (805) 484-6365.

Eleanor Martinez

Eleanor Martinez passed away peacefully on June 16, 2002 in Oxnard, CA, after a long illness. Born October 22, 1924 in Piru, CA to Francisco and Andrea Lozano. Eleanor was a homemaker all her adult life. She worked for Fillmore-Piru Citrus Association for a short time in her youth.
Her sisters, Mary Nunez Gloria Ruiz, Evangeline Barron. And her brothers, Frank Lozano, Daniel Lozano and a young brother Camillo Lozano predeceased her. Eleanor married Manuel Arellanez Martinez on June 16, 1946. The day she passed away, June 16, was their 63rd wedding anniversary.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, Manuel A. Martinez, her daughters Viola Balbinot and her husband Tony of Santa Barbara, Rosalinda Preciado of Henderson, Nevada, Manuel J. Martinez, fsp, of Los Angeles, Steven Martinez of Fillmore. Also, by four grandchildren; Shawn Preciado, Christopher Preciado, of Henderson, NV and Adriana Preciado of Fillmore, also Steven Martinez, Jr. of Colorado. Also by a great- granddaughter, Mariah Holmes, of Las Vegas. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Romo of Hendersaon,NV and Raul Lozano of Pico Rivera and by several nieces, nephews.
Eleanor was a very simple no non-sense woman who, along with her husband, lovingly cared raised her family with strength and wisdom. She was a devout Catholic and was dedicated to the Holy Rosary
The Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, June 22, 2009 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Fillmore, CA with Most. Rev. Thomas J. Curry, Auxiliary Bishop of Los Angeles officiating. Burial was at Bardsdale Cemetery. Arrangements are made by Santa Clara Catholic Mortuary, Oxnard.

Toni Lea Nelson

Toni Lea Nelson, 44, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Monday, June 15, 2009 with her loving husband at her side after an eight year battle with cancer. Toni was born February 24, 1965 in Carson City, Michigan to Larry Lee Meyers and Karen Kaye Beltinck.
More than anything in her life Toni was a devoted wife, daughter, sister and friend. Toni was so full of life she had inherited a unique sense of humor. She left this world greatly comforted by the belief that everyone would remember her as the witty, fun-loving, caring and affectionate woman they knew her to be. Her husband Jeff is grateful to have shared the adventurous and thrilling experience that was life with Toni.
Toni was an avid animal lover, especially cats and horse. Growing up in Michigan she was very active in 4-H. One of her favorite things at age nine was to tow her friends through the snow on toboggans using her horse. At thirteen she was barrel racing and eventually went on to win a world championship on her buckskin American Quarter Horse “Dun Deluxe” (Dundee) in 1995. Years later it was her wish to donate her horse to “Heart of a Horse” foundation that promotes the well-being of horses and teaches children the value of animals and responsibility of caring for them. Through her life Toni always had at least one cat, but usually several, since she had a real soft spot for recues. She loved to camp at the beach and Ride Mountain bikes with her Husband Jeff.
Toni is preceded in death by her, brother, Todd Meyers in, 1980. She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Scott Nelson, Mother, Karen Torres and half brothers, Brent Meyers and David Meyers.
A graveside service will be held Monday, June 22, 2009 at 10:00am at Bardsdale Cemetery 1698 S. Sespe St. Fillmore, Ca 93015 with Father Tom Dome officiating.

Marilyn Godfrey

Marilyn Godfrey passed away June 19, 2009 at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. Her family was beside her. She was born Marilyn Kay Bell at Community Hospital in Ventura, CA March 26, 1949. Except for a year in Cairo, Egypt, she attended Ventura schools and graduated from Ventura High School in 1966. She immediately went to work for Bell Telephone Company and was moved up the ranks right away. She met her future husband there, married and moved to Fillmore in the late sixties.

Marilyn became a stay-at-home Mom when her son Greg was born in 1970 and didn't work until he started school. Marilyn and Loren Godfrey were very involved in the Fillmore community and volunteered for the pageant, festival and other various activities. When Marilyn became the head of the Chamber of Commerce, she worked closely with the businesses in town and worked very hard promoting Fillmore with the film industry. When Loren retired from Pacific Bell in 1991, they moved to Las Vegas and stayed there. Marilyn became very involved with women’s golf and won several tournament championships until her health prevented her from playing; she then switched to bass fishing and had a great time trolling Lake Mead. The last few years she had been working hard with the non-profit organization, Springer Spaniel Rescue. Her own rescued boy, Bandit, is missing her greatly.

She leaves behind her son Greg, his wife Tricia, and her adored grandchildren Emma and Raymond. She also leaves her sister Norma and brother-in-law Gordon, and her dear friend Mary. Following cremation, there are no services planned in Fillmore at this time.

Nita Hastings-Perkins

"When a person dies, they only appear to die; they are still very much alive in the past.. .All moments, past, present, and future, always have existed and always will exist." At ninety-two years old, Nita Hastings-Perkins passed peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, June 10th, 2009, where she joined her first husband, Charlie Hastings, in heaven for what would have been their 71st wedding anniversary. Nita was born in Kansas on October 18th, 1917. Her family then moved to Colorado where she was raised for most of her life until she moved to Santa Paula as a sophomore in high school. Not long after, she met Charlie Hastings, a local of Fillmore and married him on June 10 , 1938. The two were married for 25 years when Nita was widowed. Her second husband Ed Perkins also preceded her in death as did her parents, grandparents, and sole granddaughter, Deanna. Nita was a caring mother, a wonderful grandmother, and an adoring great-grandmother. She was deeply loved by her two children, Nancy Bowlin and Michael Hastings, and will be sorely missed by her two grandsons, Chip Bowlin and Derek Hastings and their families. Nita will live on in the countless memories that her loved ones will always hold close to their hearts. A memorial has been planned for later this summer. Any donations may be made to the Fillmore Historical Museum or a charity of choice.

Adolfo Ortiz Lugo

Adolfo Ortiz Lugo, age 89, of Fillmore/Sylmar, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2009. He was a resident of Ventura County for over 67 years.

Adolfo is preceded in death by his wife, Grace Robles Lugo, and his son, Edward Lugo. He is survived by his children: Lupe Hernandez, Alicia and husband Raymond Alverdi, Frank Lugo, Graciela Lugo, Arturo Lugo, and daughter-in-law, Faith Lugo; 14 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited on Friday, June 19, 2009 at 10:30a.m. at the St. Francis of Assisi Church in Fillmore. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2009 at the St. Francis of Assisi Church in Fillmore. Interment will follow at Bardsdale Cemetery in Fillmore.

Ricardo Briseno

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Ricardo “Looney” Briseno on Monday morning, June 8th 2009, as the result of a tragic automobile accident. Ricardo was born on January 26, 1982 in San Diego, California. He was a life time resident of Fillmore, where he attended San Cayetano and Sespe Elementary schools, as well as Fillmore Middle school and Fillmore High School, where he made many lasting friends. He enjoyed playing AYSO soccer and Fillmore Raiders Football. Some of his favorite past times were playing darts, listening to old school music, as well as oldies. His favorite rapper was Lil One. He also enjoyed gambling at the casino and watching sports on television. His favorite team was the New York Yankees. His dream was to attend a game at Yankee Stadium. He would always tell a story with a straight face, making it difficult to know if it was true or just a joke. In 2004 he met Yvette Ledesma and together they were the loving parents of two children. Ricardo referred to his son, Ricardo Jr. as his “pride” and his daughter, Inez as his “joy.” In spite of the challenges he faced in his young life, he was able to accomplish much. He has left a lasting mark on those whose lives he touched and he will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his loving companion, Yvette Ledesma, son, Ricardo Jr., daughter, Inez Marie, Yvette’s parents Monica and Miguel Martinez and her grandparents, John and Cornelia Hernandez, who were very fond of him. He is also survived by his mother, three sisters and his maternal grandmother, “Mama Lucita,” as well as numerous friends.

Ricardo Briseno
As we mourn our beloved son, brother and father Ricardo Briseno, we reminisce of his life.
He came from a family of five including mother Concepcion Enriquez, sisters, Brenda, Carla and Lisa. He was born in San Diego, CA on January 26, 1982 and died on June 08, 2009 in a horrible car accident.

As we remember his life, our thoughts go back to when he was a little boy. We remember him always a practical joker, making people laugh. He was a kindhearted since the beginning of his life. As he grew up he enjoyed being with his friends, he then became a father to Ricardo Jr. and Ines Marie. Fatherhood became his number one priority. His pride in his kids was shown to everyone. So now as we find ways to cope with this sudden loss, we want him to know he will forever be missed and kept in our hearts and prayers. Ricardo, We love you!

Elias Martinez Lemus, 23, California, MO passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2009. He was born June 22, 1985 in Purandiro Michoacan, Mexico to Miguel Martinez and Martina Lemus Corona who survive of Fillmore, CA. He was employed at Cargill and was a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church in California, MO. Other survivors include; two brothers, Miguel Martinez Lemus and Mauricio Martinez Lemus both of Fillmore, CA; three sisters, Maribel Martinez Lemus, Guadalupe Martinez Lemus, and Maria Del Carmen Martinez Lemus all of Fillmore, CA; maternal grandfather, Jose Guadalupe Lemus of Armadillo, Mexico; paternal grandmother, Tomasso Arroyo of Armadillo, Mexico. He was preceded in death by his fiancé, Marisol Cardoso; maternal grandmother, Maria Corona and paternal grandfather Aurelio Martinez Ceralla. Beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, and Friend lost her battle with Cancer on June 2, 2009. She leaves behind her husband, Billy Wade of Fillmore, her daughters Michelle Pele, husband David, Brenda Hampton-Ortiz, husband Eddie, of Fillmore, son Nathan Hampton, wife Wendy, of Texas, 10 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Originally from Kerman, CA she was a teacher for 57 years, she retired in Fillmore, CA attended church, shopped yardsales and enjoyed her luncheons with the Heritage Valley Red Hatters. A memorial is scheduled for Tuesday June 9th at 10am at the Kerman Funeral Home located at 538 S. Madera Ave, Kerman, CA followed by her burial at Fresno Memorial Gardens.

Theodore Breshears

Theodore Breshears born in Fillmore on March 4, 1934 passed away peacefully in Albany, Oregon on April 8, 2009 after a short battle with brain cancer. Ted served in the Navy for 6 years. In 1969 he remarried to Martha Marino and moved to Oregon. He retired in early Winter 2007 from Long Haul Trucking. He loved fishing and camping.
Ted is survived by his wife Martha, two daughters from previous marriage, Melissa and Andyce and his two brothers, Nathan and Ernie. At the coming Family Reunion in August the family will have a Memorial Service.

Guadalupe “Lupe” Dominguez Ramirez

Guadalupe “Lupe” Dominguez Ramirez. Our beloved Nana, passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side on Tuesday, April 21, 2009. Nana was 101 years old.

Lupe was born on February 11, 1908 in Santa Paula to Guadalupe Royallas Ruiz Dominguez and Francisco Huandurraga Dominguez. She was the youngest of sixteen children. When Lupe was seven years old, she moved with her family to Piru Canyon. She was a life long Piru resident.

Lupe attended Temescal School from first grade 1916 through seventh grade 1922 in Piru Canyon, where Lake Piru is today, then attended Fillmore Union High School. Lupe worked for Piru Citrus Association for many years.

Lupe is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Fermin Arroyo Ramirez, and her son in law, Alfred “Fred” Andrew Acosta both of Piru.

Lupe is survived by her daughters: Viola Anne Ramirez Acosta of Piru, Claudina Lucille Ramirez Root (husband Clyde) of Piru; grandchildren, Jeffrey Curtis Acosta, Steve Alfred Acosta, Stephanie Ann Acosta, Lonnie Root and Beck Root all of Piru; great-granchildren, Diana Marie Acosta Thompson (husband Rich), Amber Natividad Acosta, Steve Andrew Acosta, Daniel Acosta, Gwenn Root, Levi Root and Guner Root; great-great-grandchildren, Maya, Madison, Grace, Erica and Cesar.

Nana loved her family, she enjoyed playing the piano for her family and friends. Nana, Tata, Andre and Louie Torres along with Lillie Torres had their own little band called the Piru Ramblers. They enjoyed playing for the community. Nana enjoyed quilting and sewing and would make her family quilts. She enjoyed sewing little things she would learn at the then Piru Senior Center. Nana had a special way about her. She had an unconditional love of family and would wonder how the animals like the deer were getting along in the canyons with the little rain we would have. Nana was loved so very much and will be dearly missed. Her favorite saying was “One day at a time” - that’s all we have.

A very special thank you to Roze Room Hospice of the Valley, Laurie, Osa, and Andrea who played the guitar to her when she passed from this life to Our Lord. Thank you!

A Celebration of Lupe’s life will be held Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 11:30am at Piru United Methodist Church, 3875 Center Street, Piru, Ca. Interment will follow at Piru District Cemetery in Piru. Family and friends are welcome to visit from 10-11am prior to the funeral.

Ronald Cardona Herrera

With deep sadness in we announce the passing of Ronald Cardona Herrera, 59 who left a void in our hearts on Sunday, April 19, 2009.

Ronald was born in Ventura CA. on March 9, 1950 to Frank and Jennie Herrera. He truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. What brought joy in his heart and a smile to his face was spoiling his grandchildren and making sure they all knew he was the best grandpa. Mr. Herrera was a Dodgers Fan at heart he enjoyed watching them on TV or going to Dodger Stadium. His other hobbies were listening to music; especially his oldies and Creedence Clearwater C.D.’s.

-We love you so much and will never forget you. You will forever be in our hearts.

He was preceded in death by his father Frank V. Herrera and daughter Veronica Herrera.

He is survived by Mother Jennie C. Herrera, brother Frank Herrera, sister Christina Gomez all of Fillmore. Son Frank Ronald “Butch” Herrera, daughters Samantha Galvan of Santa Paula and Brandy Estrella (Husband Jorge) of Fillmore. Grandchildren Violet Veronica Herrera, Shyanne Galvan, Daniel Ladd, Ashley Galvan, Alista Jue, Elena and Emma Estrella and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 23rd from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Skillin Carroll Mortuary 600 N. Central Ave., Fillmore, Ca 93015. Abraham F. Nolasco, 48, of Ventura and Porterville Counties passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2009 from an illness that took away his life leaving behind three kids, a wife, two sisters, four brothers and also his loving mother. He is now with his father with whom he wanted to be with, he passed away 11 years ago, May he find peace. Abraham was born on October 9, 1960 in Juan Hose Rios, Sinaloa, Mexico.

Abraham was a family man and enjoyed gambling at casinos. He also loved soccer, traveling and was a very handy man.

His visitation took place on April 2, 2009 from 5-8pm with a rosary that was recited at 7:00 P.M. at the Skillin Carroll Chapel in Fillmore. A funeral mass was held for him on Friday, April 3, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Fillmore, and internment immediately followed at Bardsdale Cemetery.
