1. YEARBOOK INFO – All pre-ordered yearbooks for 8th graders will be distributed on Thursday, June 3rd during 6th period. No yearbooks will be for sale after school. CONGRATULATIONS to 4 FMS students who participated in the Ventura County Youth Track Varsity Finals: Bantam Division: Irma Torres: 1st in the 3200 meter and 7th in the 1600 meter run; Youth Division: Nayeli Baez: 3rd in the 3200 meter run, Kiana Hope: 1st in the 3200 and 2nd in the 1600 meter run and Val Pillado who ran with the 4 x 100 relay team. Irma, Nayeli & Kiana have qualified to run at the Conference Finals on June 5th in Carpinteria.

9. CURRENT 7th GRADE STUDENTS – Fillmore High School is proud to offer the UC Summer Writing Academy. The goal of this summer program is to help prepare for the many facets of writing regardless of your writing skills. You will also be provided tutoring, guest presentations, field trips and activities in Literature and Music. Please pick up an application from Mrs. Wyand if you are interested. There is limited space available.

10. CURRENT 8th GRADE STUDENTS – Fillmore High School is proud to offer the Summer Academic Advancement Academy. This intensive summer program will help prepare you for high school mathematics, academic success, and successful admission to college. This is also a great opportunity to earn 5 high school credits. See Mrs. Wyand for an application if you are interested. Space is limited.
11. ARE YOU A HARD WORKER? Do you have at least a 3.0? Do you like visiting colleges and universities? AVID is now accepting applications for next year! If you are a 6th or 7th grader and are interested in applying, please pick up an application from Miss Atwood in C-2 or Mrs. Wyand in the office. Applications are due April 30th at 3:00 p.m.
