Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Arturo Contreras, passed away on November 19, 2011 in Fillmore, CA. He lived in Ventura County for 39 years. He was born in Caurio de Guadalupe, Michoacan, Mexico on May 2, 1941.
Arturo loved going to his “ranchito” and growing vegetables for his family. He retired from Gardenia Nursery, Camarillo in 2005. He enjoyed watching soccer and collecting recycling. He loved babysitting his grandchildren.
Arturo is preceded in death by his mother, father and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Josefina, sons; Carlos, Arturo Jr., Roberto, Jorge and Ruben, daughters; Eva, Olivia, Nubia, Raquel, Susana, Margarita and Leticia and 9 grandchildren.
Viewing will be held from 3:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, November 25, 2011 at Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, 600 N. Central Ave, Fillmore CA 93015. Funeral service will be on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 8:45 am at St. Francis Church followed by the graveside at Bardsdale Cemetery.
