Come find treasures or if you would like to donate items, call Kathy Pace at 524-0534 for pick up.
7. ATTENDANCE COUNTS! All students with perfect attendance and no tardies during the month of September will be invited to attend a dance during the last half hour of the school day on Oct. 1st. Make sure you arrive on time to all your classes every day.
8. DO YOU HAVE AN INTEREST in becoming a reporter or newscaster? Why wait until you grow up? Scholastic News Magazine is currently seeking student reporters. Come to Mrs. Wohlers’ room, B-1, to work on your application. This opportunity is open to students in all grades including GATE, AVID or any student with an ambition to become a reporter. Meetings will be held all this week and next week, but you don’t have to attend every meeting. We will be working on the sample articles needed for the application. The deadline for this application is Oct. 12th.

• Dance Under the Stars TODAY from 5:30-8 p.m. Tickets are on sale during both lunches. Cost is $4.00 in advance, $5.00 at the door.
• 6th Graders, if you are a natural leader, enjoy planning school events, doing community service, and learning about government, this class is for you. Pick up an application packet in the front office or in room G-1. Completed applications ARE DUE TODAY! Once you have been notified of your acceptance, you may begin your campaign for election. Campaign week runs from Sept. 27 through the 30th. Speeches and elections will take place on October 1st during advisory.

STUDENT INFORMATION

1. CONSTITUTION DAY is today. The Bill of Rights guarantees certain fundamental freedoms. How much do you know about this document? Take the quiz to find out. Your 2nd period teacher will give you the quiz. Turn in your answers to Ms. Morielli in room G-1 by the end of the day on Friday. The first 30 students to get 100% on the quiz will get an ice cream sundae on Monday. Good luck!
2. SCHOOL RULES – Offering the sale of any controlled substance, alcoholic beverage or intoxicant of any kind will result in a 5 day suspension and expulsion recommendation.

• Do NOT go to have your picture taken if you have lost your ID. ID cards are replaced in the library for a cost of $3.00.
