STUDENT INFORMATION
1. TODAY IS HAWAIIAN DAY and ASB will be selling Hawaiian temporary tattoos and stick-on body jewels for 25 cents during lunch!
2. WASHINGTON DC RUMMAGE SALE – FMS students are having the sale to raise money for their Washington D.C. trip. Mark your calendar for Saturday, Oct. 2nd from 8 a.m. until noon at the District Office on Sespe Avenue. Come find treasures or if you would like to donate items, call Kathy Pace at 524-0534 for pick up.
3. SCHOOL RULES – If you are suspended more than 20 days in one school year, you will be recommended for expulsion.
4. ATTENDANCE COUNTS! All students with perfect attendance and no tardies during the month of September will be invited to attend a dance during the last half hour of the school day on Oct. 1st. Make sure you arrive on time to all of your classes every day.
5. DO YOU HAVE AN INTEREST in becoming a reporter or newscaster? Why wait until you grow up? Scholastic News Magazine is currently seeking student reporters. Come to Mrs. Wohlers’ room, B-1, to work on your application. This opportunity is open to students in all grades, GATE and AVID. Meetings will be held all this week and next week, but you don’t have to attend every meeting. We will be working on the sample articles needed for the application. The deadline for this application is Oct. 12th.
6. ASB INFO
• Dance Under the Stars on Friday, Sept. 24th from 5:30-8 p.m. Tickets go on sales Monday, 9/20 during both lunches. Cost is $4.00 in advance, $5.00 at the door.
• 6th Graders, if you are a natural leader, enjoy planning school events, doing community service, and learning about government, this class is for you. Pick up an application packet in the front office or in room G-1. Completed applications must be turned in by Friday, Sept. 24. Once you have been notified of your acceptance, you may begin your campaign for election. Campaign week runs from Sept. 27 through the 30th. Speeches and elections will take place on October 1st during advisory.
• Sept. 29 Jersey Day. Show your school spirit. Wear your favorite jersey.
PARENT INFORMATION
1. MEET & GREET – Please come to our first Parent Meet & Greet for the 2010-2011 school year on Friday, Sept. 24th from 7:30-8:30 a.m. in room D-3.
2. PARENTS ARE WELCOME to come to our school any time. Please be sure to sign in at the front office and get a visitor’s pass before going on campus.
3. WEBSITE INFO: Our Calendar of Events is posted at the Fillmore Unified School District Website at: www.fillmore.k12.ca.us Once there, you can click on Fillmore Middle School and you will find the calendar of events listed in the upper left corner. You will also find a cafeteria menu and staff email access.
