STUDENT INFORMATION
1. WASHINGTON DC RUMMAGE SALE – FMS students are having the sale to raise money for their Washington D.C. trip. Mark your calendar for Saturday, Oct. 2nd from 8 a.m. until noon at the District Office on Sespe Avenue. Come find treasures or if you would like to donate items, call Kathy Pace at 524-0534 for pick up.
2. SCHOOL RULES – If you are suspended more than 20 days in one school year, you will be recommended for expulsion.
3. YOU’RE INVITED to the dedication of the Peace Pole sponsored by the Soroptimist’s of Fillmore. The ceremony takes place TODAY, Sept. 21st at 5:00 p.m. in front of City Hall.
4. ATTENDANCE COUNTS! All students with perfect attendance and no tardies during the month of September will be invited to attend a dance during the last half hour of the school day on Oct. 1st. Make sure you arrive on time to all of your classes every day.
5. BECOME AN OFFICIAL REPORTER for Scholastic News. Come to Mrs. Wohlers’ room B-1 to find out how to enter the contest. This is open to all students, including GATE and all grade levels. We will be working on the application all week in room B-1 after school. Don’t be shy!

• Dance Under the Stars on Friday, Sept. 24th from 5:30-8 p.m. Tickets go on sales Monday, 9/20 during both lunches. Cost is $4.00 in advance, $5.00 at the door.
• 6th Graders, if you are a natural leader, enjoy planning school events, doing community service, and learning about government, this class is for you. Pick up an application packet in the front office or in room G-1. Completed applications must be turned in by Friday, Sept. 24. Once you have been notified of your acceptance, you may begin your campaign for election. Campaign week runs from Sept. 27 through the 30th. Speeches and elections will take place on October 1st during advisory.
• Sept. 22 - Aloha: Hawaiian Day. Wear your favorite Hawaiian outfit. The class with the highest participation wins a sweet token of appreciation.
• Sept. 29 Jersey Day. Show your school spirit. Wear your favorite jersey.
PARENT INFORMATION
1. MEET & GREET – Please come to our first Parent Meet & Greet for the 2010-2011 school year on Friday, Sept. 24th from 7:30-8:30 a.m. in room D-3.
2. PARENTS ARE WELCOME to come to our school any time. Please be sure to sign in at the front office and get a visitor’s pass before going on campus.
3. WEBSITE INFO: Our Calendar of Events is posted at the Fillmore Unified School District Website at: www.fillmore.k12.ca.us Once there, you can click on Fillmore Middle School and you will find the calendar of events listed in the upper left corner. You will also find a cafeteria menu and staff email access.
