We were able to surprise our students! Sierra High School purchased new furniture to meet our student needs. The new student desks are larger so that laptops, books, and paper can all fit at once. Student chairs are more comfortable with a little bit of bounce to them. We also provided flexible seating options with tables that can easily wheel around the room and be used as whiteboards, tables, or presentation boards. We are excited to make our school a comfortable and quality place to be! [Courtesy Sierra High Blog.] Enlarge Photo |

The first week of the quarter has been underway with the Sierra Way trainings. The students rotate to each teacher and the principal to get clarity about the expectations and routines at Sierra High. Providing this structure and maintaining it is one reason why the students are successful—they have clarity about the procedures and that allows them to focus on their work. The school has P.R.I.D.E. which stands for: P-Proud positive citizens, R-Respectful individuals demonstrating integrity, D-Driven to our maximum potential, E-Excelling in academics, attendance, and attitude. Sierra High Principal Henrey said, "Friday, December 17th marked the last day of the second quarter here at Sierra. We are so proud of our Warriors. Each student brings their own story to us and allows us a chance to be a part of it. It is a privilege to serve our students and clear a path to success for them to take charge of. Today we celebrated our students’ many successes. To those 23 determined students we say: We are proud of your accomplishments and sad to see you leave our family. You will “Always be a Warrior, and are also Forever a Flash!” Courtesy Sierra High blog. Enlarge Photo |

Sierra High Principal Henrey said, "The Warriors now have some fancy new tables and chairs to enjoy as they eat lunch together. They reported that the chairs are comfortable, and the tables are the perfect size. The students deserve to have a beautiful campus. More great things to come this school year! (ps. Notice these California kids thinking its a cold day and shivering when it is 65 degrees out. We are spoiled here in Fillmore!)" Courtesy Sierra High blog. Enlarge Photo |
