The Fillmore AYSO 14U Boys All-Stars earned second place at the Area 10W All-Stars Tournament held in Camarillo, securing their advancement to the Section 10 weekend tournament in Bakersfield this month.
The organization extends its appreciation to Coach Bryan Ayala for his time and dedication in coaching the team.
The players are encouraged to continue working hard and represent Fillmore with pride and sportsmanship. The organization also thanks the families for their continued support and commitment.
Fillmore AYSO is proud of the team and wishes them the best of luck.

On Saturday, February 7, two Fillmore athletes toed the start line of the Moorpark Groundhog Day 5K/1M. The course started and finished on the high school track. Both Damian Santa Rosa, a student at Fillmore High School, and his brother Jacob Santa Rosa, a student at Fillmore Middle School competed in the 5 Kilometer run (3.1 miles). Damian finished 8th overall in 17:35.52. Damian was the winner of the 12-15 age group division. Jacob finished 26th overall and was the second-place finisher in the 8-11 age group division in a time.

On Friday, the Moorpark College track team hosted a two-day event that kicked off their 2026 track and field season. The running events took place on Saturday and were run at Griffin Stadium. Angel Garcia, a former cross country and track standout at Fillmore High School competed in the Men’s 3000-kilometer run. This is a run of about seven and a half revolutions of the 400-meter oval. Angel’s personal best time in this event was at 9:35.19. On Saturday, Angel shattered his old personal record with a well-executed 9:20.5 second run.

On Saturday, January 31st, a group of Fillmore sprinters and middle-distance runners tested their preseason mettle at Simi Valley High School.
In the 60-meter dash, Janessa Corona clocked a fast 8.49 seconds. She was joined by Draco Centerian, who finished in 7.71, and Domenic Corona, who crossed the line in 8.29. All three athletes returned to the track for the 150-meter sprint, with Janessa posting a 20.86, Draco an 18.75, and Domenic a 19.94.
The middle-distance crew also showed mid-season form. Ethan Leighton (Saint Bonaventure High School) finished the 600-meter event in 1:32.16. This performance converts to a 2:07.18 for the 800-meter distance. Damian Santa Rosa competed in the 1500 meters, finishing in 4:32.18. His 1600-meter conversion stands at 4:52.24. Both Leighton and Santa Rosa achieved personal bests based on these converted marks. Damian doubled back in the 3000 meters to post a time of 9:57.16, and Ethan also ran a quick 300 meters in 40.22.

FILLMORE - The Fillmore High School wrestling teams recently competed in their final two Citrus Coast League duals of the season, traveling to face Channel Islands and Nordhoff High Schools. The Flashes experienced a mix of highs and challenges across the boys and girls squads, showcasing strong individual performances.
On Wednesday, January 14th against Channel Islands, the varsity girls fought hard but fell 36 – 29, with key wins from Naomi Bonilla and Delilah Cervantez keeping Fillmore competitive throughout the dual. The varsity boys delivered an exciting victory in the same meet, edging Channel Islands 42 – 36, thanks to strong performances by Elijah Sandoval, James Alcantar, Emiliano Castanon, and Gonzalo Landeros.
The following week on Wednesday, January 21st, the Flashes traveled to Ojai to face the Nordhoff Rangers. The varsity girls earned a narrow 6 – 0 victory, with freshman Sofia Montelongo securing the only match of the evening, as Nordhoff was unable to field a full squad of female athletes. The Flashes boys fell 58 – 18, despite determined efforts from Fillmore’s key wrestlers.
In league dual competition this season, the boys finished in 3rd place as a team with a record of 2-2, while the girls finished in 4th place with a record of 1 - 3. Hueneme finished 4 - 0 and won both the boys and girls Citrus Coast League team titles.
The Flashes will next compete at the Citrus Coast League Finals at Hueneme High School on Saturday, February 7, at 10 a.m., where they will vie for individual league honors in each weight class and aim to qualify for the CIF postseason individual championship tournaments.

Wednesday, January 7, FHS Gymnasium — The Fillmore High School wrestling program celebrated Senior Night in memorable fashion Wednesday evening, honoring seven graduating student-athletes before hosting league rival Santa Paula in a Citrus Coast League dual at the FHS Gym. In front of a spirited home crowd, the Flashes earned a split on the night, with the varsity boys claiming a dramatic 41–36 victory while the varsity girls battled hard in a 48–36 loss to the Cardinals.
Prior to the opening whistle, Fillmore recognized its senior class for their years of dedication to the program. The girls team honored seniors Delilah Cervantez, Michelle Pinedo and Skyla Sandoval, while the boys program celebrated Emiliano Castanon, Tony Lemus, Gonzalo Landeros and Eddie Padilla. Each senior was acknowledged with family members at their side.
On the mat, the boys team delivered a thrilling performance, edging Santa Paula 41–36 in a meet that came down to key bouts and crucial wins. Freshman Elijah Sandoval powered his way to a victory by technical fall, while fellow freshman Isaiah Salazar secured a momentum-shifting pin. Senior captain Gonzalo Landeros made a statement by bumping up a weight class from 165 to 175 pounds to face Santa Paula’s Aiden Ramirez and earning a decisive pin that proved pivotal in the team outcome. The girls varsity squad traded wins with the Cardinals but ultimately falling 48–36. Seniors Delilah Cervantez and Skyla Sandoval both were upset by young upstarts, suffering losses by pin.
The Flashes final home meet will be Tuesday, January 27, in a non-league dual meet vs. Newbury Park High School.
