On Saturday, August 22, at 9:42 p.m., the Fillmore Police Department, Fillmore City Fire, and AMR Paramedics were dispatched to a reported two‑vehicle accident at the intersection of Ventura Street and C Street. Arriving firefighters located a white vehicle with moderate damage and a white van with minor damage. Minor injuries were reported. |
![]() On Friday, August 21, at 9:16 a.m., the Ventura County Fire Department and Ventura County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported structure fire in the 1500 block of Oak Avenue, northwest of the city of Fillmore. Arriving firefighters located a structure fully involved in flames, with avocado orchards nearby. Due to the remote location, a water tender was utilized to support firefighting operations. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire at approximately 9:44 a.m. The structure sustained significant damage, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. NEW YORK, New York (August 22, 2026) - Arron Renee Diaz, formerly of Fillmore, California will appear in the bright lights of Times Square on Saturday, September 12, as part of the annual National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) Times Square Video Presentation. The one-hour video of 500+ photographs includes children, teens, and adults with Down syndrome from all 50 states and 12 countries. These collective images highlight individuals with Down syndrome in the most visible way – on two screens in the heart of Times Square. |

![]() On Friday morning at approximately 7:07 a.m., Fillmore Police Department, Fillmore City Fire Department, and AMR Paramedics responded to a reported traffic collision at Ventura Street and Central Avenue. Firefighters arrived and found two vehicles with moderate damage, and several patients involved. A second ambulance was requested to assist with patient evaluation. Fillmore deputies temporarily closed both lanes of Ventura Street while crews assessed those involved and cleared the roadway. One patient was transported by ambulance. ![]() On Saturday, August 15, at 11 p.m., CHP responded to a head-on crash involving a patrol vehicle and a white Chevy pickup truck on Grimes Canyon, north of Moorpark. The driver of the pickup was identified as 34-year-old Derek Skinner of Santa Paula, who was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
