Dolly Ann Morua Provencio (McElroy) (1961-2016)

Dolly Ann Morua Provencio (McElroy) (1961-2016)

On Friday, May 27 th , 2016, surrounded by loved ones, Dolly’s long, courageous battle with cancer came to an end as she entered into the arms of her Heavenly Father, where she was reunited with her earthly father whom she cherished.
Dolly was born in Santa Paula, CA on November 15, 1961 to Arthur & Inez Morua. She was the fifth of their six children. Starting at a young age, Dolly was a firm believer in Jesus Christ. And, she was the first in her immediate family to accept Him as her Lord & Savior. Dolly began a legacy of faith and made great efforts to spread the Gospel to all she encountered, which continued throughout her adolescence and adulthood.
She was not a “holier than thou” kind of believer, however. In fact, Dolly is what her loved ones might call “a little rough around the edges.” She was honest, transparent & direct, but amongst that strong personality laid a heart of gold. If ever someone needed prayer, she was there.
And, when she prayed – she PRAYED. The Holy Spirit would speak through her directly to your heart. She was anointed in her petitions and would always give God the glory & credit.
Her heart was evident when it came to her family. Dolly devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She did anything it took to display her love for them. Her dedication was undeniable. She never hesitated to sacrifice for their sake. As she would say, she was blessed to be a blessing.
Dolly was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt, niece, cousin & friend. She may not have had hoards of earthly possessions, but she was rich in spirit & faith and had stored up a heavenly inheritance for her family through prayer petition.
She is preceded in death by her beloved father, Arthur Morua Sr.; grandparents, Victor & Alejandra Morua and Maximillio & Aurelia Montoya; uncles, Richard Morua Sr., Rudy Morua Sr., David Morua Sr., Eddie Morua, Anthony Montoya & Edward Montoya; aunts, Connie Morua Garcia, Josephine Montoya-Wright & Florence Montoya-Contonerro; and cousins, Susan Morua, Rudy Morua Jr., David Morua Jr., Debbie Montoya & Kathy Montoya.
Dolly is survived by her mother, Inez Morua; siblings, Teresa Morua Torres (spouse Richard), Sydney Morua, MaryLou Diermier (spouse Richard), Arthur Morua Jr. (spouse Maria) & Alice Morua (partner Isaac Prado); children, Chastity McElroy, Robert McElroy Jr., Richard McElroy, Wayne Provencio Jr., Jaynessa Lopez, Angelic Murillo, Antanette Garcia & Alannah McElroy; grandchildren, Robert McElroy III, Andrea McElroy, Richard Ray McElroy, Ayden McElroy, Naomi McElroy, Jordan McElroy, Christopher Provencio, Summer Provencio & Jayce McElroy; her best friend, Terry Chewning; and, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & cousins.
On behalf of Dolly’s family, special thanks are given to the doctors, nurses & staff at Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura & Santa Paula Hospital, especially Dr. Mark Lepore for his compassion & friendship throughout Dolly’s battle with cancer.
The viewing will be held at Valley Foursquare Community Church in Santa Paula on Sunday, June 5 th at 5:00PM. Funeral services will be held the following morning on Monday, June 6th, at 10:00AM at the before mentioned location, with a graveside ceremony immediately following at the Santa Paula Cemetery.
Services have been entrusted to the Skillen-Carroll Mortuary of Santa Paula. A memory book is being created for Dolly’s family. We invite family and friends to post their favorite memories on the Skillin-Carroll website.

Evelia Elisabeth Franco (1939-2016)

Evelia Elisabeth Franco (1939-2016)

Evelia Elisabeth Franco, 77, passed away at home on Friday, May 20th, 2016, surrounded by her sons, her daughter, and her husband. Evelia Elisabeth Carreon De Leon was born in Monterrey, Nuevo LeĂłn, Mexico to her parents, Tomasa De Leon and Jose Carlos Carreon. Evelia, more commonly known as Elisabeth, also had a brother, Carlos Americo Carreon, with whom she was close. She arrived in the United States in August of 1952. Elisabeth met her husband, Angelo Gomez Franco, when she was 15 years-old and he was 19 years-old. The young couple met each other at a dance in Harlingen, Texas. When Angelo saw Elisabeth on the dance floor, he thought she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen and proceeded to ask her to dance while in his Air Force uniform. They fell in love quickly and married two years later. The couple raised five boys, and one girl whose names are Jose Manuel Lopez, Richard Franco, Armando Franco, Arthur Angel Franco, Alejandro Paul Franco, and Margarita Deleon Franco. Unfortunately, she lost one of her sons, Richard, in 2013 due to health complications.
Elisabeth was known for her unyielding humor and eccentric style. She often made her own clothes sequined with jewels that stood out almost as much as her lush persona. Her personality was both wild and contagious. No one could help but laugh at her often inappropriate jokes or be captivated by her spellbinding stories. She lit up every room with her movie-star like beauty and it was no secret that her husband, Angel, was absolutely captivated by her for their entire life together.
Evelia Elisabeth Franco lives on in the hearts of her husband, her brother, her six children, her 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and the countless friends and loved ones whose hearts she's captured over the years. Her loved ones will keep her spirit alive by sharing stories of her wild and loving behavior. Although she is dearly missed, Evelia Elisabeth Franco lived her life the best way a life can be lived: the way she wanted and nothing less.

Carol Marie Maus (1940-2016)

Carol Marie Maus (1940-2016)

With great sorrow yet with great hope and love we announce the death of our beautiful and brilliant mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Carol Marie Maus. Carol has been taken by the angels to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to be reunited with her loving husband Rick and all those family and friends who have gone before her. Carol was born to Joseph and Florence Carbone on December 15, 1940 in Boston Massachusetts. During World War II she and her family moved to San Francisco and immediately following the war moved to Culver City. There she grew up and graduated at the age of sixteen from Culver High School in 1957, where she excelled in her classes and drew praise for both her artistic talent and design.
Carol was the first in her family to go to college. She graduated in 1961 from U.C.L.A with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and soon became head of surgical nursing at U.C.L.A. In 1962 Carol met the love of her life Rick Maus, and in 1963 they were married. In 1964 they welcomed the first of their four children Ken, followed the next year by Terri, then Jerry in 1968 and Rory in 1971. Carol chose family over career and decided to stay at home to raise her children and both she and Rick worked hard to make this possible.
Carol (Grandma Coco) as she was later to be known, was all that comes to mind when one thinks of an ideal wife and mother, gentle and generous, devout and devoted, strong and self-sacrificing, hardworking and handy. She was a true lady of beauty and class while not being vain or self important. She gave of herself for friends, family, church and charity, and enjoyed helping them in any way she could. Carol was a member of the Altar Society and the building fund for St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church where she attended Mass daily.
Carol was hurt greatly by the passing of her husband and best friend Rick in 2004 and missed him dearly. Yet, as she always did with faith, hope and strength and a lot of coffee and chocolate, she persevered, living life to the fullest, enjoying her family and friends and many travels. Now with faith in Christ, Carol has gone before us reunited with Rick, waiting to greet us someday.
Carol is survived by her son and daughter in law Ken and Debbie Maus; grandchildren Brennen and Collin of Ventura; daughter and son in law Terri and Tony Nisich; grandchildren Anthony Joseph (A.J.) and Erick of Santa Barbara ; son Jerry Maus; grandchildren Whitney and Jaymee Maus of Fillmore; and Whitney’s children Isaac and Daniel; son Rory Maus and fiancé Deana Herrera of Fillmore; brother Joseph and sister in law Barbara Carbone of Ventura; brother Ron Carbone of Ventura; niece Vicki Carbone of Long Beach; niece Jenny and her husband Joe Mussehl and their children Liam and Darby of Ventura.
Carol leaves behind many good friends and we thank them all with a special thanks to Peggy, Katie and Rosie who have been a Godsend. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses and healthcare workers who have helped Carol and her family during this difficult time. God bless you all.
Friends are invited to attend a visitation from 4:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00p.m, April 6, 2016 at Skillin-Carroll Mortuary in Fillmore. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. St. Francis of Assisi Church in Fillmore. Burial will follow at Bardsdale Cemetery.
Mrs. Carol Maus has been entrusted to the care of Skillin-Carroll Mortuary.

Dorothy “Dottie” Lynch (1932-2016)

Dorothy “Dottie” Lynch (1932-2016)

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister,
aunt and grandmother, Dorothy “Dottie” Lynch. Our Lord decided it was time to bring her Home to Everlasting Life on March 24th, 2016, at the age of 83.
She was born Dorothy May Grosvenor on July 17, 1932 in Storm Lake, Iowa
to Leo and Glenny Grosvenor. She lived quite an adventurous and eventful life that led her to all parts of the country. Her deepest roots were laid in Fillmore, CA; moving there in 1979 with her four kids. In this small town, she was a secretary, a writer, a singer, an entrepreneur, and an investigative reporter. There was never a dull moment with Dorothy. She, and her kids, kept Fillmore on its toes. Some events were even documented through a weekly column she wrote, called "Sharing My Feelings". She loved music and would regularly sing in the choir at the Fillmore First United Methodist Church, where she was a member.
In 2006, Dorothy sold her Fillmore house and courageously moved to Marshall, Texas. At arrival, she hit the ground running and joined many local organizations. She also became a member and sang in the choir of the First United Methodist Church in town. Her son, Matthew, who also lives in Marshall, made a comment soon after she moved there, saying that she could probably run for Mayor.
She will be remembered as a loving, caring, outgoing and independent woman who loved the Lord. She was a friend to all and always had a smile to share, but her most important role was that of a mother. She raised and nurtured four children whom she loved dearly.
Those left to cherish the Memory of Dorothy are her four children, Matthew Lynch, III (Sandy), Michael Lynch (Vera), Kevin Lynch (Melinda), and Kathleen Breidinger (Brent); sister, Kathy Johnson; grandchildren, Heather, Morgan, Hunter, Shona, Taylor, Emily, Holly, Maya, and Caden, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding her in death are her parents and one sister, Virginia Potulicki.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2pm, Saturday, April 9th at the Bardsdale United Methodist Church, 1498 Bardsdale Ave, Fillmore, CA 93015, with reception immediately following. She will be buried in Storm Lake, Iowa at a later date.
Dorothy has the following request: "... all those attending wear bright colors in attire. NO BLACK! This is a celebration! And lots of flowers!”

Obituary
Lynn Lee (Maxwell) Eaton (1935-2016)

Lynn Lee (Maxwell) Eaton (1935-2016)

Joy and sorrow mingle in our hearts as we, the children of Lynn Lee (Maxwell) Eaton, share that on March 18th, God took our mama by the hand, and announced, "Lynn, it’s time for you to come home with me!" In that moment she joyfully left behind a body that had suffered greatly with asthma, lupus, and, as she would often say, “a body that’s not getting any younger!”
This was on the last note she wrote. 1 Thessalonians 4:13 ...we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 17... And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.
Our beautiful mom was born in Bakersfield CA, on April 3, 1935, the oldest child of Robert and Alyce (Maggie) Maxwell. After graduating in 1953 from Fillmore High she married her sweetheart, John Eaton.
From 1963–1975, our family went to the Philippines as missionaries with New Tribes Mission. We lived on a mountain top, surrounded by the Kalanguya tribal people. There was no running water or electricity. Mom cooked on a wood stove, sewed our clothes on an old treadle machine and at night read to us by lantern light. Life was good!
Mom’s greatest joys were studying and teaching the Bible, talking to and lunching with friends, working on puzzles, playing the piano, sharing life with her kids, and especially, being a grand and great-grandmother. She is deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Robert, she’s survived by her sisters Jen (and Dick) Fredericksen of Camarillo, Karen Maxwell, and brother Mike Maxwell of Bakersfield, son, Gary (and Kellie) Eaton of Newcastle, Australia; daughters Leah (and Peter) Humphreys of Ontario, Canada; and Tami (and Charlie) Rutledge of Camarillo, her beloved12 grandchildren and 26 ½ great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider giving a love gift toward fulfilling Lynn’s wish, that family from around the world might be together as we say good-bye.
To contribute by check please make it out to Charlie Rutledge and put Lynn’s name in the memo. Send it to Chapel City Church (Formerly Camarillo Evangelical Free Church) 2315 Ventura Blvd, Camarillo, CA 93010
