Fillmore Veteran’s Day Grand Marshal Mark Dominguez proudly served his country from November 4, 1965, to November 8, 1968. Mark answered the call to duty by enlisting in the U.S. Army and later volunteering to serve in Vietnam. He was stationed in Germany from 1965 until 1967 in various law enforcement duties and as a training instructor. |
![]() On Friday, October 31st, at 6:21 a.m., Fillmore Police Department, Fillmore City Fire, and AMR Paramedics were dispatched to a collision on Ventura Street at Santa Clara Street. Arriving firefighters found a box truck that had collided with a parked semi-truck; the driver of the box truck had minor injuries. The crash is under investigation. Photo credit Angel Esquivel. ![]() On Friday, October 24th, Fillmore Flashes defeated Dos Pueblos High School advancing them to playoffs. This week the Flashes take on long-time rival Santa Paula for the 115th meeting. Ventura County students are making gains in both math and English language arts, according to the latest scores from the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). The percentage of students countywide who met or exceeded state standards in the 2024-2025 school year is up by 1.3% in math and 1.9% in English. This is the fourth consecutive year of improvement since scores dipped during the pandemic. Click on the subject box you are interested in and type “Fillmore” into the search bar. From there you can click on the school you want to observe. |
