William “Bill” Brewer (1944-2022)

Former Police Chief of Fillmore passes.
William “Bill” Brewer passed away April 5th, 2022 at 18:34 in Roseville, California.
Bill was born June 10th, 1944 in Trona, Ca; moved to Piru, Ca in 1947 and lived on his grandfather's dairy farm until 1950 when he and his family moved to Fillmore, Ca.
He graduated in June of 1962 from Fillmore High and worked several local jobs including being a reserve policeman for the City of Fillmore. Bill's career in law enforcement continued to excel up the ranks. He attended the FBI Police Chiefs' Academy in Virginia February 1974 and became Chief of Police, City of Fillmore, January 1975 until he left in 1986. After leaving Fillmore he and his family moved to Sacramento where he worked for the state until he retired in 2001.
Bill was married to Rayna Lammers but divorced in 1972. In July 1980 Bill married Alicia Deana Ramirez. She passed March 2015 in Sacramento, Ca. They have two children Deanna Louisa (Brewer) Perez and Adan Cristobal Brewer along with two grandchildren, Dominic William Robert Brewer and Marisol Lola Brewer. Bill is also survived by two sisters, Marla Desha and Renee Evans and many nieces/nephews/cousins.
Bill was also affiliated with the Masons of California over 53 years in Fillmore; Santa Paula; and Sacramento area. He received the Hiram award in 2015 and also the 25 year and 50 year anniversary awards.
Viewing is scheduled May 12th, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Perez Family Funeral Home, Central Avenue, Fillmore, Ca. Graveside services will be held at Bardsdale Cemetery May 13th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
