Valentine (Big Val) Pillado Sr. age 55 born Jan. 4, 1955, went home with our lord on Saturday Feb. 13th, 2010. Following a brief illness. He was surrounded by his family and friends at the time of his death and died peacefully at home.
Val loved being around his family especially his grand children. He loved camping in Yosemite, fishing at Convict Lake, listening to Oldies music, going to family bar-b-ques, watching Sci-fi channel, football, baseball, basketball. Val was also an avid deer hunter. He enjoyed sitting on the front porch talking to friends and neighbors. Val always had a way to make people laugh. He will be missed by anyone who was fortunate to have met him. Val was a devoted catholic and always prayed the Rosary.
Val was employed by the City of Simi Valley as a Landscape Maintenance worker for 15 years until he suffered a back injury and became disabled.
Val was one of eight children was preceded to death by sisters Viola, Elizabeth, Brother Michael and mother Katy Pillado. He is survived by his loving wife Becky. They had been married 38 years and were High School Sweet hearts; his sons Val Jr, Timmy and daughter Michele; grandchildren, Val Jr II, Aiyanna, Brittany, Ashley, Raeleen, little Timmy II, Dominick. Sisters Blanca Lopez, Rosie Velasquez, Brothers Manuel Jr. & David Pillado, Father Manuel Pillado Sr. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Val will be loved and missed forever.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30pm at San Salvador Church in Piru, Ca. on Thursday, February 18, 2010. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9am at San Salvador Church in Piru on Friday, February 19, 2010. Burial will follow at Bardsdale Cemetery in Fillmore.
