This past Friday, Fillmore High School Varsity played Round 1 of the CIF Division 12 playoffs against Schurr High School. Fillmore fought hard and it showed after the game when a couple of key players were given awards. Varsity fell short, ending the season with a tough loss to Schurr, with a final score of FHS = 10 to SHS = 56. Christian Cisneros was 10 of 27 for 121 yards and 1 Touchdown. George Tarango had 5 catches for 75 yards and a Touchdown catch. Kevin Galvan had 9 tackles and 6 pancake blocks on offense. "It was a tough loss to a very good Schurr football team." said Head Coach Matt Dollar. George Tarango was selected Frontier League offensive player of the year, Kevin Galvan was selected Frontier League defensive player of the year, and Coach Matt Dollar was selected Frontier League Football Coach of the year.
