Former Flashes Run in Albuquerque
On Friday, February 13th, Camilo Torres, a track and field athlete for Cal State University of Northridge started his 2026 track and field season at the New Mexico Don Kirby Invitational. This meet is held at the Albuquerque Convention Center. In his first race back from battling shin splints, Camilo placed 11th in the 3000-meter race, in a respectable early season time of 8:45.77.

Garcia Runs the Ron Kamala Open
Angel Garcia, a former Fillmore Flash, and currently a student at Moorpark College had a busy day at the Ron Kamala Open. This track meet is run at the Hilmer Lodge Stadium on the Mt. San Antonio College track. Angel started his day by posting a time of 4:21.53 in the 1500 meters race, that was followed by running a 2:07.23 in the 800 meters, and his final event, as a member of Moorpark’s 3rd - 4 X 400-meter relay team was run in 3:43.02. Angel’s 800 meter was a personal best time for him, and his 1500 meter was a season best for him.
