Former Flashes & Cardinals Run Beach Opener

On Saturday, March 7, current University of Northridge student, and former Fillmore Flash Omar Heredia contested an event for the first time, the Men’s 3000-meter steeplechase. Omar said that it was quite difficult after the 4th lap, yet he managed to finish 6th in 10:29.10.
Meanwhile, teammate, Diego Rodriguez, a Fillmore resident, and former Santa Paula Cardinal ran two distance events (not an easy task). Diego’s day began with the 1500-meter run, where he placed 23rd in 4:12.08, and the 3000-meter run, placed 7th in 900.7.
After Omar’s and Diego’s individual event they were members of a 4X400-meter team that finished 16th in 3:41.69.

Fillmore Alumni at Henry Kirk Invite
Makhi Hooker, class of 2023, ran the 100-meter dash, placed 7th in 11.15, returned to run the 200-meters, placed 6th in 22.71. Angel Laureano, class of 2024, ran the 800-meters and placed 6th in 2:26.42.
