Former Fillmore Track Athletes Run Mt. Sac Relays & FHS Splits with Hueneme
On Friday, April 17, former Fillmore graduate Angel Garcia competed at the 2026 WSC South Track and Field Prelims at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California for Moorpark College. He competed in the 800-meter run, 1500-meter run, and the 10,000-meter track race events and qualified for all three events for the 2026 WSC South Track and Field Finals hosted by Moorpark College on Friday, April 24th.

Former Fillmore Track Athletes Run Mt. Sac Relays
On Thursday, April 16th, two former Flash athletes competed at the Mt. San Antonio College Relays in Walnut, California. In the Men’s 3000-meter Steeplechase Elite invitational race, Diego Rodriguez placed 3rd in 9:48.41, Omar Heredia placed 4th in 10:05.07.
On Friday, At the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa Pacific, Camilo Torres competed in the Open B 5000-meter run and finished 85th in 15:22.88.
On Friday, April 17th, Angel Garcia competed in the 2026 WSC South Track and Field Prelims at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita California. Angel competed in the 800-meter run and ran a 2:03.28. He then returned in the 1500-meter run and placed 12th in 4:14.12. Finally, Angel returned for his third attempt at running a 10,000-meter track race, or 6.2 miles. Angel finished in 8th place in this race and posted a time of 34:14.6. Angel set a personal best times in all 3 events and as a result qualified for these events for the 2026 WSC South Track and Field Finals hosted by Moorpark College on Friday, April 24th. A second former Flash, Makhi Hooker continues to perform well. Makhi qualified for next weeks finals in the 100-meter sprint and in the 200-meter run. He posted personal best times of 10.81 in the 100-meters, and 22.07 in the 200-meter run.

Flashes Track Splits with Hueneme
On Thursday, the Fillmore High School track teams traveled to Channel Islands High School to compete against the Raiders in 16 different events over 4 divisions.
The JV Girls 4x100 meter relay was the first running event of the afternoon. This team captured first place in a time of 58.61. Team members included Alejandra Robles, Jessica Aparicio, Giselle Villareal, and Emma A. Ortiz. The Varsity Girls 4 X 100-meter relay team also captured 1st place in time of 50.79. Team members were Jessica Corona, Kimberly Magana, Delilah Lupercio, and Mia Munoz. The Frosh/Sopho Boys 4x100 meter relay composed of the four athletes—Domenic Corona, Harley Halcon, Francisco Ruiz Jr., and Elijah Sandoval—finished 2nd in a time of 50.02.
In the JV Girls 1600-meter run, Melanie Martinez finished (6th in 6:55.17), Mariana Elvira (7th in 6:57.13), and Christina Setty (8th in 6:58.71). Prince Kamradt captured 5th place in the Frosh/Sopho Boys 1600 meters in a time of 5:32.57. He was followed by Nicholas Cerda (6th in 5:37.40). In the Varsity Girls 1600, Michelle Setty (3rd in 6:24.15), and Megan Robles (5th in 7:59.78). In the Varsity Boys 1600-meter run, Jordan Hernandez was Fillmore’s top finisher, (5th in 5:14.9). He was followed by Gabriel Lagunas (8th in 5:42.54), and Alfredo Bacilio (9th in 5:42.87). Alfredo posted a personal best time.
Giselle Villareal won the JV Girls 400-meter run in 72.64. She was followed by Alejandra Robles 5th in 1:20.85. Jack Ignacio placed 3rd in the Frosh/Sopho Boys 400-meter run in 62.73. He was followed by Elijah Sandoval 4th in 63.2, and Nathaniel Tafoya 6th in 64.31. Delilah Lupercio placed 2nd in the Varsity Girls 400 meters in 66.69. She was followed by Jaiden Peacock (3rd in 66.86), Andrea Gamez 5th in 69.04, and Barbara Soltero (6th in 69.18). In the Varsity Boys 400-meters, Nathan Hernandez placed (2nd in 53.93). He was followed by Orlando Vigil Tello (6th in 58.56), and Draco Centurion 8th in 59.04. Draco Centurion, and Nathaniel Tafoya, Andrea Gamez ran a personal best times.
In the JV Girls 100-meter dash, Emma Ortiz took (1st in 15.04). She was followed by Jessica Aparicio (2nd in 15:14). Draco Centurion was 3rd in the Frosh/Sopho Boys 100-meters in 13.12. He was followed by Domenic Corona (3rd in 13.12), Harley Halcon (4th in 13.40), and Francisco Ruiz Jr. (6th in 13.68). Kimberly Magana won the Varsity Girls 100 meters in 12.86. She was followed by Janessa Corona (2nd in 13.46), Mia Munoz (4th in 13.73), and Sarah Cedillos (5th in 14.65). Saul Fraga-Sandoval won the Varsity Boys 100 meters in 11.11. He was followed by Jasiah Patterson (2nd in 11.75), Joshua Felix (3rd in 11.88) and James Magana Jr. (4th in 12.38). James Magana Jr., Francisco Ruiz Jr., Jessica Aparicio, ran a personal best times.
In the JV Girls 800-meter run, Camila Soto placed (1st in 2:53.39), Gabriela Lopez was (2nd in 2:54.46), Melanie Martinez (6th in 3:08.90), Mariana Elvira was (8th in 3:10.88, and Christina Setty (9th in 3:11.44). Prince Kamradt finished 5th in the Frosh/Sopho Boys 800-meters in 2:28.75. He was followed by Nikolias Cerda (6th in 2:39.18). Camila Rodriguez won the Varsity Girls 800 in a personal best time of 2:23.10. Melanie Flores placed 5th in the Girls 800-meter run in 2:48.37. Andrea Gamez followed finishing (6th in 2:55.76). In the Varsity Boys 800-meter, Damian Santa Rosa was Fillmore’s top Varsity finisher, (4th in 2:08.41). He was followed by Gabriel Lagunas (7th in 2:32.38). Camila Rodriguez and Melanie Flores, and Gabriel Lagunas ran personal best times.
Emma Ortiz won the JV Girls 200 meters in 31.86. She was followed by Jessica Aparicio (3rd in 32.29). Elijah Sandoval was 2nd in the Frosh/Sopho Boys 200-meter dash in a time of 26.87. He was followed by Domenic Corona (3rd in 26.96), Francisco Ruiz Jr. (5th in 28.06), Jack Ignacio (7th in 28.30), and Harley Halcon (8th in 28.31). Kimberly Magana won the Varsity Girls 200-meter dash in 27.29. Janessa Corona placed (3rd in 27.69). They were followed by Jaiden Peacock (4th in 29.22), Mia Munoz (3rd in 28.52), Barbara Soltero (5th in 29.95), and Sarah Cedillos (8th in 30.29). In the Varsity Boys 200-meter race, Joshua Felix finished (1st in 24.22), Draco Centurion was (4th in 25.23), Orlando Vigil was (5th in 25.45), and James Magana Jr. (7th in 25.96). Elija Sandoval ran a personal best time.
In the JV girls 3200, Celeste Camarena was (3rd in 16:36.56). Alfredo Bacilio was Fillmore’s top finisher in the Varsity Boys 3200-meter race. Alfredo finished (4th in 13:03.98). Alfredo and Celeste ran personal best times.
In the JV Girls 4x400-meter relay, the team of Mariana Elvira, Gabriela Lopez, Christina Setty, and Camila Soto placed (1st in 5:24.04). Second in the JV Girls 4x400-meter relay, Fillmore’s B team of Gabriela Lopez, Melanie Martinez, Christina Setty, and Camila Soto placed (2nd in 5:25.42). The Frosh/Sopho Boys team of Francisco Ruiz Jr., Elija Sandoval, Jack Ignacio, and Joseph Aguilar placed (2nd in 4:40.25). In the Varsity Girls 4x400 meter relay, Jaiden Peacock, Camila Rodriguez, Barbara Soltero, and Delilah Lupercio placed (2nd in 4:31.91).
The JV Girls discus, was won by Desiree Marrufo in a season best of 76’ 04”. Teresa Rangel followed (2nd in 74’ 05”), Sophia Rivera (3rd in 67’ 09”), Nancy Anguiano (4th in 67’ 04”), Karla Bueno was (6th in 64’ 00”), Jozelyn Ruiz (7th In 58’ 07”), and Liliana Patterson (8th in 58’ 05”). In the Frosh/Sopho Boys discus, Nathaniel Tafoya led all Fillmore competitors with a 1st place throw of 102’ 00”. He was followed by Elijah Prado (2nd in 80’ 09”), Joshua Morales (3rd in 78’ 06”), and Joseph Aguilar (6th in 58’ 10”). In the Varsity Girls discus competition, Adrianna Deleon placed 2nd, in a new personal best of 108’ 04”. She was followed by Hermelinda Ocegueda (3rd in 97’ 05”), Emily Soltero (4th in 87’ 10”), Lucy Murrillo (5th in 79’ 06”), Valerie Rodriguez (8th in 63’ 04”). In the Varsity Boys discus, Isaiah Meza won the event in 126’ 10”. Marcus Lechuga was (2nd in 114’ 06”), Emanuel Velazquez (3rd in 113’ 09”), and Isaac Rivera (113’ 00”). Emanuel Velazquez, Nathaniel Tafoya, Elija Prado, Joshua Morales, Adrianna Deleon, Emily Soltero, Teresa Rangel. Nancy Anguiano, Karla Bueno, and Jozelyn all had personal best throws.
In the JV Girls shot put, Desiree Marrufo won the event in 23’ 03”. She was followed by Teresa Rangel (2nd in 23’ 00”), Sophia Rivera (4th in 22’ 09”), Nancy Anguiano (5th in 22’ 03”), Lily Patterson (7th in 19’ 08”), Karla Bueno (8th in 19’ 05”) and Jozelyn Ruiz (9th in 17’ 08”). Nathaniel Tafoya placed 1st in the F/S Boys shot put with a personal best heave of 36’ 09”. He was followed by Joshua Morales (3rd in 34’ 08”). Elijah Prado (4th in 34’ 06.5”), Joseph Aguilar (5th in 32’ 07”. Hermelinda Ocegueda won the Varsity Girls shot put in 33’ 01”. She was followed by Adrianna Deleon. (2nd in 32’ 03.5”), Lucy Murrillo (4th in 28’ 01”), Emily Soltero (5th in 27’ 10”), and Valerie Rodriguez (7th in 25’ 05”). Isaac Rivera placed 1st in the Varsity Boys shot put with a heave of 42’ 03”. He was followed by Marcus Lechuga (2nd in 40’ 10”), Emanuel Velazquez (4th in 36’ 04”), and Isaiah Meza 6th in 27’ 01”. Marcus Lechuga, Nathaniel Tafoya, Joshua Morales, Valerie Rodriguez, and Teresa Rangel, had personal best puts.
In the Frosh/Sopho boys high jump, Jack Ignacio won the event in 5’ 00”. In the Varsity boys high jump, Isaiah Meza claimed 1st in 5’ 06”. He was followed by Nathan Lepe 4th in 5’ 0”. Jack Ignacio had a personal best jump.
Saul Fraga-Sandoval won the Varsity Boys long jump, posting a mark of 19’ 08”. He was followed by Jasiah Patterson (2nd in 19’ 00”), Joshua Felix (3rd in 18’ 06.5”), Nathan Hernandez (4th in 18’ 02”), and James Magana Jr. (5th in 16’ 08”). In the Girls Varsity long jump, Janessa Corona finished (1st in 14’ 08”. Jasiah Patterson, Nathan Hernandez, and James Magana Jr. leapt to a personal best distance.
In the Varsity Boys triple jump, Jasiah Patterson was 1st with a leap of 40’ 0.25”. James Magana Jr. was (4th in 35’ 02.5”). In the Varsity Girls triple jump, Sarah Cedillos placed (1st in 32’ 00.”). She was followed by Delilah Lupercio (2nd in 28’ 7.75”). James Magana Jr. and Sarah Cedillos had a personal best jump.
In the team competition, Fillmore won the JV Boys, On Thursday, April 23rd, Fillmore track team members will host their final home/duel meet against a very good Carpinteria team. This meet is set to start at 3:30 p.m.
