On Sunday, November 16, two former Fillmore student/runners toed the starting line along with about 1,906 athletes to race the Malibu Half Marathon or 13.1 miles. The race started at Cal State University Channel Islands and headed west along the coast before finishing near Mugu Rock. Jose Meza, also known as Pepsi, finished in 76th place in 1:33.56, and Pablo Suarez finished 102nd in 1:37.03. Jose now resides in Moorpark and Pablo lives in Chico. By Epi Torres.
