FMS Wrestling Competes at VC Middle School Championships

Photos courtesy Coach Michael Torres. The Fillmore Middle School Wrestling Team concluded its season at the Ventura County Middle School Wrestling Championships at Nordhoff High School in Ojai. The championship was a tournament format where athletes are entered in brackets by age, grade level, and weight class. The eight county teams that competed represented middle schools from Balboa, De Anza, Fremont, Isbell, Matilija, Sinaloa, and Soria.  The Fillmore Bulldogs performed well on the mats. The results were as follows: Emma Torres: 1st Place -6th Grade- Light-weight girls (2-0 with two pins). Meya Garcia: 2nd Place- 8th Grade-Light-middleweight girls (1-1). Jonathan Patino: 3rd Place - 6th Grade- Upper-weight boys (1-1 with one pin). Devin Camacho: 4th Place 7th Grade-Feather-weight boys (0-2). Alexa Martinez: 4th Place -6th Grade-Light-weight girls (1-2 with one pin).
