Flashes Varsity, JV Softball Update

The Varsity Lady Flashes won their second game of the PVC (Pacific View Challenge) on Wednesday, April 7th against San Marcos. The final score was Lady Flashes 8 and San Marcos 4. Kellsie McLain was the starting pitcher giving up only 2 hits and 0 runs with Kianna Tarango and Lilah Duran following her to finish the game . Kennedy Smith did a great job behind the plate staying strong for the pitchers. The girls Offense was on fire again with Nadia Lomeli going 3 for 3 with 3 doubles and an RBI. McLain went 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI while Smith went 2 for 3 hitting 2 singles. Tori Perez was 1 for 2 hitting a triple and having 3 RBI's. Heidi Hinklin, Chellie Arrequin and Becca Vassaur also contributed with singles. The Lady Flashes are now 9-2 overall and 3-1 in the Tri Valley League with a big week ahead of them.

Fillmore HS JV Softball played San Marcos HS on April 7th, 2010 . The Lady Flashes JV team coached by Brenda Ortiz and Philip Avila, defeated the Royals in a 5 inning game ending mercy rule last Wednesday on San Marcos' home field . Game highlights : Pitcher Amber Magana lead the defense from the mound with 4 innings seeing 3 Royals up -three down (5th inning Magana gave up a single , followed by 4 batters who failed to score the runner). On Lady Flashes defense, top hitters of the game were Tatiana Gonzales(1B ) with a home run in the third inning , and Mary Ortiz (3B) with a double in the 2nd inning.
