On March 12th, the Fillmore Track Teams hosted the Malibu Sharks. Fillmore won the first event of the day, the JV Girls 4 X 100-meter relay in a personal best time of 58.43. Team members were Alejandra Robles, Jessica Aparicio, Giselle Villareal, and Emma A. Ortiz. The Frosh/Spho Boys 4x100-meter relay was the second running event of the afternoon. The four athletes—Domenic Corona, Draco Centurion, Nathan Lepe, and James Magana Jr.—posted a winning time of 48.27. The Varsity Girls won and set a personal best time of 51.77. Team members included Janessa Corona, Kimberly Magana, Jaiden Peacock, and Mia Munoz. The Varsity Boys won their race in an excellent 44.05. Team members were Jasiah Patterson, Saul Fraga-Sandoval, Joshua Felix, and Nathan Hernandez.
In the JV Girls 1600-meter run, Camila Soto placed first in (6:49.46). Christina Setty 2nd in 7:13.29, Gabriela Lopez (3rd in 7:25.80), and Mariana Elvira placed 4th in 7:27.58. Prince Kamradt captured 1st place in the Frosh/Spho Boys 1600 meters in a time of 6:09.18. In the Varsity Girls 1600-meters Melanie Flores placed (1st in 6:30.20). In the Varsity Boys 1600-meter run, Jordan Hernandez was Fillmore’s top finisher, (2nd in 5:21.35). He was followed by Nikolias Cerda 4th in 5:31.48, Gabriel Lagunas (5th in 6:26.08) and Ricardo Quilo (6th in 6:37.13).
Yaneli Landin finished 2nd in the Varsity Girls 100-meter hurdles in 19:59.
Giselle Villareal won the JV Girls 400 meter run in 73.49. She was followed by Jessica Aparicio 2nd in 76.02. Nathan Lepe won the Frosh/Spho Boys 400-meter run in a personal best time of 57.97. He was followed by Domenic Corona 2nd, also in a personal best time of 64.34. Jaiden Peacock won the Varsity Girls 400 meters in a personal best time of 67.25. She was followed by Delilah Lupercio 2nd in personal best time of 67.28, Barbara Soltero 3rd in a personal best time of 69.06, Andrea Gamez 4th in 1:13.64, Sarah Cedillos 5th in 1:15.15, and Michelle Setty 6th in 1:20.24. In the 400 meters Varsity Boys, Nathan Hernandez placed (1st in 53.46). He was followed by Joshua Felix 2nd in a personal best time of 57.14, and Orlando Vigil Tello (3rd in 58.70).
In the JV Girls 100-meter dash, Emma Ortiz took (1st in 15.09), She was followed by Alejandra Robles 2nd in 15.21. Draco Centurion was the F/S Boys 100-meter winner in 12.64. He was followed by Elijah Sandoval (2nd in 13.44), Nathan Lepe (3rd in 12.81), Domenic Corona (4th in 13.31), Jack Ignacio 3rd in 13.60, Francisco Ruiz Jr. 4th in 13.80, Nathaniel Tafoya (6th in 14.43), and Joseph Aguilar 7th in 14.70). Elijah and Jack ran personal best times. Kimberly Magana won the Varsity Girls 100 meters in 12.75. She was followed by Janessa Corona 2nd in 13.24, and Mia Munoz (3rd in 13.68). Saul Fraga-Sandoval won the Varsity Boys 100=meters in 11.23. He was followed by Abel Villela (2nd in a personal best time of 11.32), and Jasiah Patterson (3rd in 11.99).
In the JV Girls 800-meter run, Camila Soto placed (1st in 3:11.72), Gabriela Lopez followed (2nd in 3:22.15), Mariana Elvira (3rd in 3:22.71, and Christina Setty (4th in 3:33.64). Prince Kamradt finished 1st. in the Frosh/Spho Boys 800 meters in 2:52.58). Melanie Flores won the girls 800-meter run in 2:55.63. Andrea Gamez was 2nd for Fillmore in the 800-meters, finishing in 3:02.15. She was followed by Michelle Setty (3rd in 3:04.44). In the Varsity Boys 800-meter, Jordan Hernandez was Fillmore’s top finisher, 2nd in 2:29.17. He was followed by Gabriel Lagunas (4th in 2:48.80), and Nikolias Cerda 5th in 2:50.90).
Yaneli Landin won the Varsity Girls 300-meter hurdles in a time of 57.95.
Emma Ortiz won the JV Girls 200 meters in 31.92. She was followed by Giselle Villareal (2nd in 32.38), Jessica Aparicio was 3rd in 32.42, and Alejandra Robles 5th in 33.59. James Magana Jr. won the Frosh/Spho Boys 200-meter dash in a time of 24.79. He was followed by Draco Centurion (2nd in 25.30), Nathan Lepe finished 3rd in 26.35, Domenic Corona (4th in 27.16), Jack Ignacio (5th in 27.57), Elijah Sandoval (6th in 27.80), and Francisco Ruiz Jr. (7th in 28.22). James, Jack, and Elijah ran personal best times. Kimberly Magana won the Varsity Girls 200-meter dash in 28.52. Mia Munoz was 2nd in 29.11, and Barbara Soltero (3rd in 29.79). In the Varsity Boys 200-meter race, Nathan Hernandez finished (1st in 23.90), and Orlando Vigil Tello (4th in 25.18).
In the Varsity Girls 3200-meter race, Valeria Mendez Munoz finished (1st in 15:41.05). In the Varsity Boys 3200-meters, Ricardo Quilo placed 3rd and ran a personal best time of 14:30.09.,
In the JV Girls 4x400-meter relay, the team of Emma A. Ortiz, Jessica Aparicio, Giselle Villareal, and Alejandro Robles placed 1st in 5:28.85. This was a team personal best time. The Frosh/Spho Boys team of Jack Ignacio, Elijah Sandoval, Francisco Ruiz Jr., and Draco Centurion placed 1st in 4:39.94, a personal best team time. In the Varsity Girls 4x400-meter relay, Barbara Soltero, Jaiden Peacock, Delilah Lupercio, and Yaneli Landin placed 1st in a personal best time of 5:12.99.
In the JV Girls discus, Desiree Marrufo posted a throw of 68’ 06” to win this event. Teammate Liliana Patterson was (3rd in 60’ 01”), Teresa Rangel 4th in 56’ 02”, Nancy Anguiano (5th in 51’ 00”), Karla Bueno was (6th in 47’ 00”), Sophia Rivera (7th in 46’ 04”, and Jozelyn Ruiz (8th in 44’ 00”). In the Frosh/Spho Boys discus, Nathaniel Tafoya led all competitors with a personal best throw of 88’ 04”. He was followed by Joseph Aguilar, who also threw a personal best of (75’ 10”), Joshua Morales (3rd in 64’ 10”), and Elijah Prado (5th in 63’ 08”). In the Varsity Girls discus competition, Adrianna Deleon won the event with a throw of 100’ 02”. She was followed by Lucy Murrillo (2nd in 89’ 08”, Hermelinda Ocegueda (3rd in 88’ 01”), Emily Soltero (4th in 78” 01”), and Valerie Rodriguez (6th in 70’ 10”.”). Lucy had a personal best mark.
In the JV Girls shot put, Desiree Marrufo placed 1st in 25’ 06”. She was followed by Nancy Anguiano (2nd in 22’ 08” 04”), Jozelyn Ruiz (3rd in 21 08”), Teresa Rangel (4th in 21’ 00”), Sophia Rivera (5th in 20’ 10”), Lily Patterson (6th in 20’ 07”), and a Karla Bueno (7th place in 19’ 03”). Nancy, Jozelyn, and Teresa had personal best throws. Joseph Aguilar won the Frosh/Spho Boys shot put with a heave of 35’ 07”. He was followed by Elijah Prado (3rd in 33’ 03”), Joshua Morales (4th in 33’ 01”), and Nathaniel Tafoya. (5th in 32’ 06”). This was a personal best throw for Joshua. Hermelinda Ocegueda won the Varsity Girls shot put in 33’ 09”. She was followed by Emily Soltero (2nd in 29’ 01”), Adrianna Deleon (2nd in 29’ 01”), Lucy Murrillo (4th in 28’ 11”), and Valerie Rodriguez (5th in 23’ 09”). Hermelinda and Emily had personal best throws. Isaac Rivera placed 1st in the Varsity Boys shot put with a heave of 43’ 02”. This was a personal best mark for Isaac. He was followed by Isaiah Meza (2nd in 39’ 09”), Marcus Lechuga (3rd in 39’ 07”), and Emanuel Velazquez (4th in a personal best heave of 37’ 06”).
Nathan Lepe won the Frosh/Spho Boys high jump with a jump of 4’ 11”. Yaneli Landin was the winner in the Varsity Girls high jump with a leap of 4’ 6”, and Michelle Setty finished (5th in 3’ 10”). Isaiah Meza was also the winner of the Varsity Boys high jump, posting a mark of 5’ 4”.
In the Frosh/Spho Boys long jump, James Magana Jr. was 1st in 16’ 06”. Janessa Corona won the Varsity Girls long jump in 14’ 03”. Saul Fraga-Sandoval won the Varsity Boys long jump, posting a mark of 20’ 02.5”. He was followed by Jasiah Patterson (2nd in 18’ 02.25”.) and Joshua Felix (3rd in 18’ 02”). Joshua had a personal best jump.
James Magana Jr. was first in the Frosh/Spho Boys triple jump in 34’ 03”. Sarah Cedillos placed 1st in the Varsity Girls triple jump in 29’ 02.” She was followed by Delilah Lupercio 2nd in 26’ 04.” In the Varsity Boys triple jump, Jasiah Patterson was 1st with a leap of 36’ 04”.
In the team competition, Fillmore won the JV Girls, Frosh/Spho Boys, Varsity Girls, and Varsity Boys. On Saturday, March 21st, Fillmore will travel to the Maurice Green Invitational at Oaks Christian High School in Westlake. This meeting is set to start at 8:00 a.m.
