On Friday, March 6, several Fillmore athletes traveled to Moorpark High School to compete in the Don Green Invitational.
In the JV shot put, Nathaniel Tafoya placed 44th in (33’ n08.25”). He was followed by Elijah Prado (45th in 33’ 08”) and Joseph Aguilar (54th in 32’ 07”).
In the JV girls shot put, Hermelinda Ocegueda placed (2nd in 31’ 09.5”). She was followed by Adrianna Deleon (4th in 30’ 09.75”), Lucy Murrillo (14th in 26’ 01.75”), Desiree Marrufo (25th in 23’ 07.25”),
In the JV boy’s discus, Nathaniel Tafoya finished in 29th place with a toss of 83’ 03”. He was followed by Joshua Morales (58’ 01”), Joseph Aguilar (59th in 54’ 01”.
In the JV girl’s discus, Adrianna Deleon placed (2nd in 90’ 11”). She was followed by Hermelinda Ocegueda (5th in 84’ 01”). Lucy Murrillo (13th in 71’ 10”), and Desiree Marrufo (32nd in 53’ 07”).
In the Varsity 1600 meters, Camila Rodriguez ran a strong race finishing in 2nd place overall in the Invitational Race. She improved her personal best time from 5:25.98 to 5:12.86.
Hermelinda Ocegueda and Adrianna Deleon were medal winners in both the JV Girls shot put and discus. Camila was medal winner in the Varsity Girls 1600-meter run.
