Flashes Beat Carpinteria 47 to 0

Last Friday, the Fillmore Flashes opened up league play with a 47-0 win against Carpinteria High school, improving their overall record to 6-0 and their league record to 1-0. Senior Quarterback Jared Schieferle led the way on offense, throwing for 311 yards and 4 touchdowns. Senior RB Bryce Nunez added 110 yards on the ground and 2 touchdowns. Senior Wide Receiver/Defensive back Ryan Gonzalez did it all for the Flashes, catching 4 passes for 238 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns, he added another touchdown on defense with a 60 yard interception return. They defense posted another shutout, thanks to senior linebackers David Julian, who led the team with 6 total tackles, and David Tovar who had a sack and an interception. Senior Defensive End Tyler Coert also added two sacks to the winning effort.

Next week the Flashes continue their league schedule away at 7pm vs. Nordhoff High School.
