
On Saturday, February 21, Fillmore Flashes Track and Field teams competed at the Rincon Relays and Field Meet. On Saturday, February 21st, the Fillmore High School Track and Field teams competed at the Rincon Relays and Field Meet.
The first competitors on the day were in the JV Girls 1600-meter run. Top finisher for Fillmore was Camila Soto 3rd in 6:46.61. She was followed by Valeria Munoz Mendez 4th in 6:48.67, Mariana Elvira 5th in 7:10.95, Christina Setty 6th in 7:14.53. They were followed by FS Boys 1600 meters. Nikolias Cerda led this race for the Flashes. He finished 3rd in 5:39.37. He was followed by Prince Kamradt 4th in 5:59.76. The Varsity Girls were next on the line. In this race Camila Rodriguez of Fillmore won that race in a fine early season time of 5:29.91. She was followed by Michelle Setty 6th in 6:36.31. Andrea Gamez 7th in 6:50.0, Megan Robles 8th in 7:29.27. The final group of 1600 meter athletes, the Varsity Boys, were led by Ricardo Quilo 8th in 6:16.41, he was followed by Gabriel Lagunas 9th in 6:18.41.
Jessica Aparicio was the winner of the JV Girls 400; meter run in 1:14.21. This was a personal best time for Jessica. Orlando Vigil Tello won the F/S Boys 400 in 58.33.
In the Varsity Girls 100-meter run, Janessa Corona place 3rd in 13.37. In the Frosh/Soph Boys 100 meters, Draco Centurion led the Flashes, finishing in second with a personal best time of 12.17. Domenic Corona followed, placing 8th in 13.29. In the Varsity Boys 100-meters, Saul Fraga-Sandoval claimed first in a Rincon Relays in a meet record of 11.07. He was followed by Joshua Felix 3rd in 11.71, and Jasiah Patterson 6th in 11.91.
In the JV Girls 800-meter run, Camila Soto was Fillmore’s top finisher, placing 3rd in 3:05.11. She was followed by Mariana Elvira 4th in 3:18.6, and Christina Setty 5th in 3:21.54. In the Frosh/Soph Boys 800-meter run, Prince Kamradt led the Flashes with his 6th place finish in 2:44.21. He was followed by Nikolias Cerda 7th in 2:44.39. Camila Rodriguez led the Fillmore Varsity Girls 800-meter runners with her second-place finish in 2:37.26. She was followed by Andrea Gamez 4th in 3:01.99, Michelle Setty 5th in 3:04.98, and Megan Robles 6th in 3:33.31. The top runner for Fillmore in the Varsity Boys 800 was Ricardo Quilo 6th in 2:44.69, and Gabriel Lagunas was 7th in 2:51.98.
Delilah Lupercio was Fillmore’s top finisher in the JV Girls 200-meter sprint. She captured 5th place in 31.16. She was followed by Jessica Aparicio 8th in 32.35.
In the JV Girls 4 X 400-meter relay, Fillmore was second in a time of 5:24.47. Team members were Mariana Elvira, Camila Soto, Christina Setty, and Jessica Aparicio. In the Varsity Girls 4X 400-meter relay, the girls finished second in 4:56.05. Team members were Jaiden Peacock, Camila Rodriguez, Andrea Gamez, and Michele Setty.
In the JV Girls shot put, Sophia Rivera placed 2nd with a toss of 21’ 3.5”. She was followed by Desiree Marruffo 3rd in 20’ 09”, Karla Bueno 4th in 19’ 7.5”, Joselyn Ruiz 5th in 19’ 06”, Teresa Rangel 6th in 19’ 06”, Teresa Rangel 6th in 18’ 11”, and Lily Patterson 7th in 17’ 01”. In the Frosh/Soph Boys, Nathaniel Tafoya was second with 33’ 1”. Elijah Prado was third in 31’ 9,5”. He was followed by Joshua Morales 5th in 29’ 9.5”, and Joseph Aguilar 6th in 25’ 3.5”. In the Varsity Girls, Hermelinda Ocegueda won the event in 31’ 09”. She was followed by Adrianna DeLeon 3rd in 29’ 4.5”, Lucy Murrillo 4th in 27’ 04”, Emily Soltero 5th in 26’ 04”, and Valerie Rodriguez 7th in 22’ 09”. Marcos Lechuga won the Varsity Boys shot put with a put of 39’ 8.75”. He was followed by Isaac Rivera 3rd in 38’ 11”, Isaiah Meza 5th in 38’ 0.5”, and Emanuel Velazquez 9th in 34’ 7.5”.
Desiree Marruffo was 1st in the JV Girls discus with a toss of 62’ 06”. She was followed by Teresa Rangel 3rd in 57’ 04”, Sophia Rivera 4th in 53’ 11”, Lily Patterson 47’ 5”, Karla Bueno 46’ 10”, and Joselyn Ruiz 43’ 3”. Nathaniel Tafoya was 2nd in the Frosh/Soph Boys discus in 79’ 03”. He was followed by Elija Prado 4th in 60’ 03”, Joshua Morales 5th in 59’ 05”, and Joseph Aguilar 6th in 59’ 01”. Adrianna DeLeon won the Varsity Girls discus in 94’ 02”. She was followed by Hermelinda Ocegueda in 93’ 02”, Emily Soto 4th in 72’ 05”, Lucy Murrillo 5th in 65’ 05”, and Valerie Rodriguez 9th in 59’ 11”. Isaac Rivera won the Boys Varsity discus in 121’ 07”. He was followed by Isaiah Meza 2nd in 120’ 08”, Marcus Lechuga 6th in 111’ 08”, and Emanuel Velazquez 12th in 91’ 06”.
Janessa Corona won the Varsity Girls long jump in 14” 6.25”. Saul Fraga -Sandoval won the Varsity Boys long jump with a leap of 20’ 04”. He was followed by Jasiah Patterson in 17’ 0.25”, and Joshua Felix 4th in 17’ 00”.
Delilah Lupercio won the JV Girls triple jump in a leap of 27’ 1.75”. Jasiah Patterson won the Varsity Boys triple jump in 36’ 6.75”.
Isaiah Meza won the Varsity Boys high jump with a jump of 5’ 0”.
The Fillmore track team will next host Nordhoff High School on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. The discus will have an early start time of 1:30 p.m.
