Fillmore Little League Major Division, managed by Gene Perez, coaches Sam Dunbar and Ryan Morales, had an incredible Majors
team this season. The team, led by Perez, showcased remarkable talent and determination, ultimately securing the
championship. Team mom Laura Morales played a vital role in coordinating the team’s efforts.
Despite having five players who had never played baseball before, the Fillmore Little League Majors team managed to win
every game they played this season in the highly competitive division. The coaches went above and beyond the volunteer
requirements, ensuring that all the players performed at a level far beyond their initial abilities.
What truly sets great youth coaching apart is when an entire team advances in skill level, not just specific players. The
Fillmore Little League Majors team exemplified this excellence, with phenomenal coaching and a passion for baseball that
made them a formidable force.
Unfortunately, the team’s dominance often led to mercy rule victories, preventing them from facing opponents for longer
games. However, the coaches and manager were clear that everyone would get to play all positions, and this was evident
throughout the season. When ahead in the game, the team’s strategy took a backseat, and they all played ball with
enthusiasm.
The strength instilled in these players by their coaches was truly remarkable, even in unfamiliar positions. The Fillmore
Little League Majors team’s success was a testament to the dedication and hard work of the managers, coaches, and team mom.
At the closing ceremonies, Bunnin Chevrolet generously donated a $500 check towards the season’s costs and provided donated
equipment. Bunnin Chevrolet has consistently demonstrated a commitment to not only Little League baseball but also the
