Fillmore Girls Softball and Boys T-Ball had a great opening day last Saturday at Shiells Park in Fillmore. Scout troop 60933, from Girl Scouts of California's Central Coast, led the flag salute. Past league president’s;Liz Hinklin , Lynn Cole, Jeff Warren , and Heather Swetman , each threw a first pitch to catchers; Victoria Villegas , Sonya Gonzales, Lydiana Duran, and Paula Laureano . The traditional raffle ticket fundraiser awarded $800 in gift cards to lucky league supporters. Top sellers of tickets were- 1st place - Collin Coert 310 tickets, Evelinda Perez 212 tickets, and Madyson Bishop 170 tickets. The players proudly paraded with colorful team banners and wore their new uniforms and caps/visors smbroidered with the 2009 business team supporters : John Holladay /ReMax, Super Seal & Stripe , 7-Eleven Fillmore , Moon Valley Nursery, Harbor Freight Tools, Yanni's Best Burgers, Paladin Principle, State Farm Insurance, Vallarta Restaurant, RK Mechanical ,Rancho Keleje Alpacas, Heritage Valley Air Co., Beylik Farms , Alta Quality Farm Service Inc., Dr. Zimmerman, and Dr. Christine Johnston from Fillmore Family Medical Group, Prism Maritime, A & A Paving, California Mechanical, Knights of Columbus ,and Team Gear Up .
