The Fillmore Middle School Bulldogs Wrestling team traveled to Isbell Middle School in Santa Paula on Thursday, March 5th, to compete in the season-opening Ventura County Middle School Takedown Tournament, facing off against squads from Anacapa, Balboa, Cabrillo, De Anza, Isbell, Nordhoff, and Sinaloa middle schools. Representing the Bulldogs on the mat were Sundae Ambriz, Francisco Avila, Parker Blackshear, John Cervantez, Kamila Cuesta, Miguel Joubert, Bryan Manzo, Albert Morales, Miguel Morales, Torrey Morales, Jesse Moten, Christopher Padilla, Isaac Ramirez, Roque Rivera, and Valentin Sandoval.
The Bulldogs season continues with several upcoming meets. Fillmore will travel to Nordhoff High School in Ojai on Thursday, March 12th at 5:30 p.m., followed by a road trip to De Anza Middle School in Ventura on Thursday, March 19th at 5:30 p.m. The team then heads to Sinaloa Middle School in Simi Valley on Thursday, March 26th at 5:30 p.m., before closing out the season at Royal High School in Simi Valley on Friday, April 17th at 4:00 p.m. Bulldog fans are encouraged to come out and support the team as they continue their campaign on the mat.
