Fillmore Bulldogs Hit the Mats in Ojai

The Fillmore Middle School Bulldogs wrestling team traveled to Nordhoff Junior High School in Ojai on Thursday, March 12, competing against seven other Ventura County squads that included Anacapa, Balboa, Cabrillo, De Anza, Isbell, Nordhoff, and Sinaloa. Competing for the Bulldogs were Francisco Avila, Cayden Balades, Parker Blackshear, John Cervantez, Kamila Cuesta, Miguel Joubert, Bryan Manzo, Albert Morales, Miguel Morales, Torrey Morales, Jesse Moten, Christopher Padilla, Liam Patton, Isaac Ramirez, Roque Rivera, and Valentin Sandoval.
“I’m proud of the effort the students put in every time they step on the mat,” said coach Michael Torres. “They compete hard and represent Fillmore well, and I’m looking forward to seeing them continue to grow as the season goes on.” The Bulldogs return to action Thursday, March 19, when they travel to De Anza Middle School in Ventura for a 5:30 p.m. meet.
