Fillmore Alumni Runners Compete at Ventura ½ & Full Marathons

On Sunday morning, February 22nd, several Fillmore-Piru community members took up the challenge of running the Ventura ½ Marathon (13.1 miles), and some ran the full marathon (26.2) miles.
In the ½ marathon, Fabian Del Villar was the top finisher from Fillmore in 1:33.37. He was followed by Matthew Munoz in 1:40.47. Angelica Herrera was the top Fillmore female runner in 1:48.25. She was followed by Rachele De Nicola in 2:08.48, and Emily Garibay in 2:20.37.
The top ½ marathoner from Piru was Nicholas Hurtado in 1:29.59.
In the marathon, Francisco Bernardino was Fillmore’s top finisher in 3:26.08. He was followed by Eric Magana in 4:12.57, and Michael Groeneveld in 5:35.06. Fillmore alumni Eddie Farfan, class of 94 posted a personal best time in the Marathon of 2:58.07.
