The Fillmore 12U Girls Soccer Team won the Area 10W playoff championship during matches held Dec. 6–7 in Ventura, hosted by AYSO Region 39.
Competing in a 16-team division, Fillmore played five matches over the two-day tournament. The team advanced to the finals after a semifinal match decided by penalty kicks, then defeated Ventura 2–1 in the championship game.
The team is coached by Michael Ceballos and Angel Chavez, whose leadership and commitment guided the players through a demanding weekend of competition. Families were also present throughout the tournament, providing consistent support as the team advanced through each round.
Throughout the playoffs, the players represented Fillmore and AYSO Region 242 with strong teamwork and sportsmanship. The team will advance to the next level of competition in Bakersfield in February.
