Corey Cole named NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week

BURNSVILLE, Minn. - Concordia-St. Paul sophomore Corey Cole has been named the NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week, as announced by the league headquarters on Monday morning.

Cole tied an NCAA Division II record with a 100-yard kickoff return for touchdown in the first quarter of Concordia's 28-24 road win at Wayne State on Saturday. Cole's kickoff return score was also a big momentum play, as the Wildcats had previously tied the score at 7-7 before he housed the ensuing return. In the game, Cole had two returns for 123 yards (61.5 avg), and added one catch for a yard. He leads the NSIC and is third in the nation with a 34.5 kickoff return average on 11 returns (379 yards). He leads the team with 10 plays of 25-plus yards, with nine of those coming on kick returns.

Corey is a Fillmore High School Graduate, Class of 2011.
