On May 1st, and 2nd, several Fillmore athletes competed in the Steve Scott Invitational held at University of California, Irvine.
On Friday, Camilo Torres placed second in the 1500 meter run in 3:51.76. This is a personal best time for Camilo and converts to a 4:10.3 mile or a 4:08.84/ 1600-meter.
On Friday, Diego Rodriguez placed 7th in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 9:37.98. Omar Heredia followed closely in the same race finishing 8th in a personal best time of 9:51.64. Logan Torres ran Unattached in the 5000-meter run, and finished 10th in 16:17.54.
Omar and Diego doubled back on Saturday competing in the 1500-meter run. Omar placed 7th in a personal best time of 4:06.04. He was followed by Diego, who finished 8th in a personal best of 4:06.4.
The Moorpark College athletes competed on Saturday at the 2026 SoCal Regional Track & Field Prelims, held at Memorial Stadium at Bakersfield College.
In the 1500-meter run, Angel Garcia placed 26th in 4:32.27. Angel doubled back in the 10:000 meter run and placed 26th in 36:06.79.
In the Men’s 4 X 100-meter relay, Moorpark placed 3rd in 41.95. They will advance to the finals. Team members were Ray Carmel, Roman Finley, Makhi Hooker, and Desmond Winbush. Moorpark’s 4 X 400-meter relay team finished in 4th place in 3:18.30. This was also a finals qualifier, and a season best for this team. Team members, Dominic Perez, Desmond Winbush, Roman Finney, and Makhi Hooker posted a winning time of 3:20.14. Makhi finished 23rd in the (100 meters in 10.91).
