Ventura— The Fillmore Middle School Bulldogs wrestling team showcased their grit and technique at a high-energy multi-meet held at De Anza Middle School on Thursday, March 19. Squaring off against tough competition from Anacapa, Balboa, Cabrillo, Isbell, Nordhoff, and Sinaloa Middle Schools, the Bulldogs’ roster turned in a series of determined performances. Representing Fillmore on the mats were Francisco Avila, Cayden Balades, John Cervantez, Miguel Joubert, Bryan Manzo, Albert Morales, Miguel Morales, Torrey Morales, Christopher Padilla, Liam Patton, Anthony Ramirez, Isaac Ramirez, Valentin Sandoval, Sundae Ambriz, and Kamila Cuesta.
The team is now shifting its focus to the final stretch of the season as they prepare for their last regular-season meet. The Bulldogs will travel to Simi Valley this coming Thursday, March 26, to compete at Sinaloa Middle School starting at 5:30 PM. This meet serves as the final tune-up before the highly anticipated Ventura County Middle School Wrestling League Championship, which is scheduled for Friday, April 17, at Royal High School beginning at 4:00 PM.
