Boys 12U team the Jr. Flashes from Fillmore's own AYSO 242 advanced to playoffs in Ventura this last weekend. During the season, they were the team to beat. Solid defense strategy paired with amazing strikers kept this team at the top. Blanca Benson was the head coach, and her passion to stay competitive was essential. During the season on Saturday, you could also catch her refereeing several games with her assistant coaches. Our community is built on volunteers like this. This weekend the boys were 2-1 but unfortunately not enough points to advance further. What an awesome season for boys soccer and I can’t wait to see what they do next!
