Fillmore Senior Center News

On August 25, Yane Flores, from the Food Stamp Outreach Program will be at the Fillmore Senior Center to assist Ventura County Citizens who need and may qualify for food Stamps, in filling out applications. (Note: SSI/SSP recipients do not qualify for food stamps.)

Monday, August 16 The Braille Institute is offering a Vision Impaired Class from 10 am to 11:30 at the Fillmore Senior Center. If you know friends who are blind or legally blind please encourage them to come. This is NOT A “Braille” class, it is teaching skills for a more independent and fulfilling life.
Piru-Fillmore Day Trip to the Pala Casino has been rescheduled to September 3rd. Time and location are the same. There is still room on the Bus, call Andy at (805) 521-1554 if you are interested is joining in on the fun.

Mark your Calendars, The Alzheimer’s Association will we holding a Alzheimer’s workshop October 13 and October 27 at the Fillmore Senior Center from 1-3 pm. More information will be available closer to the actual date.
The Senior Center is in need of Volunteer drivers to deliver Meals on Wheels, Volunteers need to be at least 18 years of age, have a valid drivers licenses, proof of car insurance and pass the Live scan, drivers will get paid for their mileage. Time schedule is 10:30 AM to 12:00 noon. If you are interested please call Tony at 524-3756

Spanish Class now on Fridays, MS Word 7, Beginning Computer, AARP Driving Class
Come in and sign-up or Call 524-4533 to get on the list for your preferred class. Remember the driving class is required every 3 yrs. in order to get the discount on your insurance.
