Field Trip to Fillmore Historical Museum June 18th. at 10:00 AM, Meet at 350 Main Street or call the Fillmore Senior Center and let us know If you need a ride 524-4533
This will be a Tour with Narrative and slides from 1914-2014. As you stroll about the Fillmore Historical Museum you will find four historical buildings with treasures from the early days in the Santa Clara Valley. The Hinckley House, a 1905 Craftsman-style home was designed and built for Fillmore’s first dentist, Ira Hinckley and his family. Other items on the tour will cover, Our 1887 Southern Pacific Railroad depot, the 1919 Rancho Sespe Bunkhouse and the original Bardsdale post office, used to collect, sort and dispense mail in the late 1800’s. The display rooms depict how life was in the early years in the Fillmore, Bardsdale and Piru area. Pictorial displays depict our area’s past, both every day happenings as well as fires, floods and earthquakes.

Gourd Classes are canceled until September 2nd. Except for one class to finish projects on July 15th

Low Vision Classes: are held once a month on the 4th Thursday of the Month, (June 26th..) at 10:00, Low Vision Rehabilitation Specialist can show you other services that may help you perform tasks more easily such as Kitchen confidence, grocery shopping, organizing your household. Tools to manage finances, Tips and resources for traveling, Tapping into your creative side, Personal care and grooming, How to get from here to there and back, staying connected to friends & family through computers and using special reading machines available thru the Braille Institute.
