CMHS Seminar on April 20 to Focus on Cataract Surgery

Advances in cataract eye surgery will be the focus of a free seminar Community Memorial Health System is holding on Tuesday, April 20.

JillAnne W. McCarty, M.D., Ph.D., a Ventura ophthalmologist, will lead the seminar that will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in Community Memorial Hospital’s eighth-floor Nichols Auditorium.

Patients undergoing cataract surgery have more advanced options now than ever before. Dr. McCarty, who has been practicing in Ventura since 1992, will discuss state-of-the-art surgical advances and new technology to treat cataracts and restore clear vision for an active lifestyle.

Dr. McCarty received her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond and her Ph.D degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine. She completed her Ophthalmology residency at the Jules Stein Eye Institute of UCLA. Dr. McCarty is an active member of the Community Memorial Hospital Medical Staff.
