Fillmore High School students are invited to attend the upcoming “Prom Dress Project” event, in partnership with One Step A La Vez and House of Gowns, a community-driven initiative offering free formalwear and accessories to help high school students prepare for prom.
The event will take place on Saturday, April 25, 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at House of Gowns, located at 320 Central Avenue in Fillmore. All high school students are welcome to attend and select from a variety of gently used dresses, shoes, and jewelry, completely free of charge. In addition, complimentary alterations will be available to ensure each student finds the perfect fit.
The event is part of the Prom Dress Project, officially housed by One Step A La Vez, a community organization dedicated to supporting youth and families. The event is made possible through generous donations from community members who have contributed high-quality formalwear and accessories. The goal is to remove financial barriers and ensure that every student has the opportunity to feel confident and celebrated during milestone events like prom.
Community members interested in donating dresses, accessories, or professional services are encouraged to participate. To donate, please contact Nancy Hernandez at (323) 385-1106.
Special thanks to One Step A La Vez, House of Gowns, Yarrow YMCA, Rosa Lopez Alterations, Tina Hurtado Creations, Live 105.5 FM, Q95.9 FM, Old School 104.7 FM, The Alynettework, FemdUStry, All Things 805, B95.1 FM, and the community for their generous donations and support.
