Ruth E. Arrasmith passed away in her home on November 10, 2009. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ruth was born on November 18, 1918 in Bentonville, Arkansas. Her family moved to Tulare, CA in 1935. In 1943, she married and moved to Fillmore and resided there until her death. She retired from Macy’s in 1985. She was an excellent seamstress and after retirement continued sewing as a hobby, keeping her family in hand-sewn clothing for many years. She also enjoyed working puzzles and card games, especially bridge. She was a member of Ventura County Garden Club and Fillmore Ebell.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Goldie Ernst, husband Don Arrasmith, brother Mark Ernst, and sister Joy Williams.
Survivors include her daughter Donna (husband Dan) Jordan, Bill (wife Gloria) Arrasmith, five grandsons, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Santa Clara Valley Hospice or the Fillmore Museum.
