Richard Gurrola (February 1934 – December 2025)

Richard Gurrola was born on February 7, 1934, in the “Campito” of Fillmore, CA and was a resident of Fillmore for 91 years. Richard passed away on Saturday, Dec 13th, 2025.
He attended Fillmore schools and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force after high school. He then worked as a Missile Technician at Point Mugu for 36 years and was known as the “Grand Daddy” of the Sparrow Missile.
He enjoyed wood working, hunting, and spending time at various locations such as Bridgepot, Las Vegas, and McDonald’s with his wife. Richard was a model husband, father, and grandfather who will be very much missed by all.
Richard is preceded in death by parents Panfilo & Juana De Haro Gurrola (Mama Jenny), sisters Katie Zavala, Lucy Munoz, Pauline Ruiz, and Candy Gurrola, brothers John, Greg & Dolores (twins), Camilo and Julio Gurrola.
He is survived by his beloved wife Enmardina Gurrola and their children Alicia Barrera, Andy Gurrola, Victor Gurrola, and Adrian Gurrola, son-in-law Al Barrera, daughter-in-law Carol Gurrola, and daughter-in-law Jackie Gurrola. Additionally, their grandchildren Crystal Marin, Sandra Bernedo, Andrea Enriquez, Alvaro Barrera, Angela Barrera, Nico Gurrola, Ava Gurrola, grandsons-in-law Marco Marin, Victor Bernedo, Eddie Enriquez, granddaughter-in law Hiu Barrera, and 12 great grandchildren.
Services for Richard will begin at 9:30am on Tuesday, December 30th, at St. Francis of Assisi Church (1048 Ventura St.) in the City of Fillmore. We will begin with a rosary and the Funeral Mass will commence at 10:00am. His burial will follow at Bardsdale Cemetery located at 1698 S. Sespe St. in Fillmore.
