It is with sadness that we share the passing of Raul Medina (Raulie) who passed away on February 20, 2023, at the age of 64. He was born on November 21, 1958, in Santa Paula, California to Jennie & Felix (Chapo) Medina.
Raulie lived in Fillmore most of his life and graduated from Fillmore High School in 1977 where he played sports and made many lifetime friends. He graduated from Ventura College and attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
Raulie enjoyed sports and was a fan of the Rams and the Dodgers. He loved spending time with his friends and family. Raulie was a friendly guy well known in Fillmore and Piru. He enjoyed spending the last few years living with his mom in his childhood home in Fillmore and chatting with the many friends and cousins he grew up with in town.
Raulie had a big heart and a great sense of humor. He was an avid reader and enjoyed learning about history and politics. His kindness and carefree spirit will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
Raulie was preceded in death by his father Felix Medina and son Michael Medina. He is survived by his mother Jennie Ponce Medina, son Christopher Medina, daughter Alyssa Medina, 3 grandchildren, Sister Nora Casarez (husband Steve) brother Danny Medina (wife Nadine) and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at San Salvador Mission, Piru Ca. 4041 Center Street, Piru. Rosary will be recited at 9:00 am with mass immediately following at 9:30 am. Committal and Interment will follow at Bardsdale Cemetery.
