
Ramon “Ray” Manuel Menjuga, at the age of 76 he passed away peacefully at his daughters’ home in Santa Clarita. He was born Dec. 14, 1948, in San Fernando. He made his home in Fillmore/Piru where he raised his family and spent most of his life. He built lifelong friendships and became part of a close-knit community.
Ray worked as a meat cutter for many years at Safeway and Vons, in Fillmore, Santa Paula, Thousand Oaks, and Oxnard. There he was known for his hard/strong work ethic, kindness (friendly smile) easy going nature and his great sense of humor.
Papa Ray loved camping, being outdoors, cooking, BBQing, listening to a wide variety of music. Papa Ray’s joyful spirit and warm heart touched everyone who knew him. He was most proud and thankful for his grandchildren. His memory will live on with countless stories and shared laughter.
He is survived by his former wife Rosaline Frias, his daughters, Jennie Rose Monroe (Menjuga) her husband Phil, Tina Lipscomb (Menjuga) her husband Christopher, Deborah Sanchez, and one Son, Charlie Sanchez Jr. and 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his Sister Markie Menjuga and her Son Manuel Menjuga.
Ray is proceeded in death by his parents, Jennie (Villa) Menjuga, and Manuel and Audrey Menjuga, his brother Christopher Menjuga, his daughter Tammy Arbaugh (Menjuga), and his grandson Freddie Raymond Ponce III.
A Mass and Celebration of Life will be held later. He will be deeply missed and forever loved and remembered.
