Senator Tony Strickland Receives Committee Assignments

Sacramento, CA – January 13, 2009, California State Senator Tony Strickland (R-Thousand Oaks) was named Vice Chair of Health and a Member of Energy, Utilities and Communications committees.

“Healthcare is an issue of extraordinary importance to everyone in California and I will fight to make sure that Californians have access to quality, affordable healthcare.”

As a Member of the Energy committee, Senator Strickland will push for a more efficient economy and the creation of green jobs. “I’m excited to serve on the energy committee. I believe it is vitally important that California should transition to a renewable, more energy efficient economy. If we make this transition it will help jump start our economy, reduce our dependence on foreign oil, improve the environment, and lower energy prices,” stated Senator Strickland.

State Senator Tony Strickland represents the 19th Senate District which includes portions of Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties.
