Ricci to testify at Sonia Sotomayor confirmation hearing

Written by David Horowitz

This week we are witnessing the Senate confirmation hearings for Sonia Sotomayor, Barack Obama's ultra-liberal nominee for the Supreme Court.

The balance of the Court is precarious; every critical Constitutional decision in the past few years has come down to a 5 to 4 vote. One such case was just decided by the Court last month, in what will undoubtedly be one of this nation's landmark court cases regarding discrimination.

The Individual Rights Foundation (IRF)- the Freedom Center's powerful legal arm, served as a friend of the court in the now-famous case, Frank Ricci, et al. v. John DeStefano, et al. ... or as it is sometimes referred to, the New Haven Firefighters case. Frank Ricci won this case and will be appearing as a key witness during the Sotomayor hearings.

Before going further, I have to ask for your help. Because it is effective, the IRF is taking on more and more worthwhile cases - solely or in action with other groups.

We defended Joe Kaufman in his fight against radical Muslims in his First Amendment case in Texas.
We are helping in the legal defense of the Boy Scouts of America in their efforts to practice their rights of freedom of association in the City of San Diego.

We are helping defend the VFW in keeping a cross over the cemetery of their fallen brothers.
To help ensure we have the strongest team and best legal advice, research and presentation possible for this case, as well the other cases we have in play, the IRF needs to raise $54,000 as soon as possible.

Will you help us reach this goal? Take action with me right now by following this link to help the IRF with an immediate contribution. We need the support of Center members like you who understand what is at stake. A contribution of $25, $50, $100, $1,000 or more will provide the financial assistance the IRF must have to continue working hard for justice -- for the support of Americans such as Frank Ricci and beyond!

Frank Ricci is the American success story writ large; coming from humble beginnings, working hard, studying and overcoming a handicap to rise to the level of taking the Lieutenant's exam of the New Haven Fire Department. He scored very high on the test, sixth overall. But the city of New Haven, fearful of a federal lawsuit, invalidated the test results, Frank Ricci sued, and Judge Sotomayor was there to shoot his dreams down, simply because Frank's story did not fit into her twisted racial world view of America.

Sonia Sotomayor and the race based industry of quotas and reverse discrimination have marched a long ways afield of Martin Luther King's words of judging a man by the contents of his character and not by color of his skin. Is this the future of the Supreme Court?

The IRF was in the fight that reversed the Sotomayor decision. This battle is just beginning, there will be many more cases coming down this road. In order to stay in the battle, we need your help right now! Please don't delay - follow this link today to make a financial commitment to end race-based court decisions like this.
