June 5, 2012, Presidential Primary Election Final Results and Certification Announced

Ventura County Clerk Recorder/Registrar of Voters Mark A. Lunn announced today the final election results for the June 5, 2012, Presidential Primary Election with 100% of precincts reporting. This election was certified 6 days prior to the 28 day certification deadline of July 3, 2012.

Final results revealed a 32.9% voter turnout. Lunn stated, “We know we've done our job when we are able to process all of the voted ballots and give every registered voter an opportunity to cast their vote. We were well prepared to conduct this election.”

A total of 133,800 ballots were cast this election. This included 80,917 Vote By Mail ballots and 52,883 ballots cast at 361 polling places throughout the County.

Lunn also attributed the success of this election to the coordinated efforts of his dedicated election team, which included more than 1,500 citizens who volunteered to work the polls on Election Day.
“I am so grateful to all our pollworkers,” Lunn stated. “They are the unsung heroes of every election.”
