Close of Voter Registration, June 8th, Gubernatorial Primary Election

The last day to register to vote for the June 8, 2010, Gubernatorial Primary Election is Monday, May 24, 2010. The completed voter registration forms must be postmarked by Monday, May 24, 2010, in order to be included in the election.

Anyone wishing to register may do so at the office of the Ventura County Elections Division in the Ventura County Government Center, Hall of Administration, 800 S. Victoria Ave., Ventura. The office counter hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Registration forms are also available throughout the County at City Halls, Post Offices, Libraries, Chambers of Commerce, and Fire Stations; or you may want to visit our website at http://recorder.countyofventura.org/elections.htm.

Monday, May 10, 2010, is the first day that the County Elections Division may issue and mail Vote By Mail ballots. Any voter who would like to vote by mail must fill out an application which is on the back cover of your sample ballot book, or you may write a letter requesting a Vote By Mail ballot. All Vote By Mail applications must reach the Elections Division Office no later than Tuesday, June 1, 2010.

Voters may also come to the Elections Division Office and vote starting on Monday, May 10, 2010. All completed Vote By Mail ballots must be returned to the County Elections Division by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day or you may drop off your voted ballot at any drop off location in Ventura County. Drop off boxes are located inside each city’s City Hall, City Clerk’s office and may be utilized during the City Clerk’s business hours and also outside the Ventura County Government Center’s Hall of Administration building, past the mailboxes at the end of the walkway as you enter the Government Center from the entrance of Telephone and Lark. The Government Center’s outside drop off box may be utilized 24 hours a day. In addition, you may drop off your Vote By Mail ballot at any polling place location in Ventura County on Election Day, Tuesday, June 8, 2010.
