Suspicious Subjects Near Schools

On Wednesday, September 22, 2010, about four to five Hispanic males, 30-40 years old, driving an older gray, four-door, sedan approached a thirteen-year-old girl and a six-year old boy that were walking to University Charter and University Prep schools in the area of Dumetz and Fulton. One of the men asked the girl to get into the car. The girl and the boy fled the scene and immediately notified school officials who contacted the Camarillo Police Department.

The School Resource Officer is personally notifying schools in the area and schools will be sending out a telephonic message to all parents. The Camarillo Police Department will be extra patrolling the areas before and after school. Camarillo Detectives are actively investigating this incident.

Anyone with further information regarding this incident should immediately report it to the Camarillo Police Department at 388-5100. Any suspicious future activity can be reported to the police by calling 911 or the number noted above.
