On 02-18-10, detectives from the Thousand Oaks Police Department arrested Amber Day and Brandon Hiott during a traffic stop in the City of Ventura. The arrests were made following a criminal investigation which stemmed from property stolen out of a vehicle in the City of Thousand Oaks earlier this month.

The suspects were booked into the Ventura County Jail for possession of stolen property. The investigation is ongoing.

While Thousand Oaks enjoys relatively low crime rates, and a reputation for being a safe city, we experience the same types of crime as any other urban area. Residents sometimes become complacent and leave their valuable property at risk. In order to avoid becoming a victim of these crimes, it is important that residents take those few extra seconds to secure their vehicles, lock their cars, and remove property from their vehicle at night.
